Tricky Problem... How do I addy an invite to a couple who filed for divorce on TUESDAY!!!

On the one hand, im thinking, 'what if they get back together, still possible' then i look like the jerk who didnt invite her own aunt to her wedding.

Then i think, well i cant very well put mr. and mrs. or i guess i can bc technically they are still married.

I dont know, I kind of think I would still do Mr. & Mrs. if they are not divorced yet and still under the same roof.

Oh wow that a tough one

Are they open with filing for divorce? I guess if they told everyone but are just temporarily living in the same house I'd send two invitations. If they haven't told everyone and it's more of you heard it through the grapevine type of thing I would just send one to Mr. & Mrs.

This is what I would do BUT I would not invite either with a guest to avoid any drama.

I'd be inclined to send 2. If I were just filed for divorce and got an invite addressed to us both, I might feel uncomfortable Also, who knows...maybe they each want to bring a guest.

I think you should send 2.

Definitely don't let them bring guests...the divorce might be ugly and then they'll try to one-up each other with dates and it could get DRAMATIC and MESSY...you don't need that on your big day!!

Mr Bob Smith...

Addressing them both on one invite but its not to MR & MRS Smith. Know what I mean?

I would play dumb and send it Mr & Mrs. Until the papers are signed and its official, I would do Mr & Mrs.

question......if they are divorcing, do you still want the half that isn't 'blood' family to still come to the wedding?

I would plead ignorance, and hope they figure it out on their own....maybe you can get another close relative to discreetly ask the blood relative what they prefer?

I would send them separately. Even if they are living in the same house. Boy, does that suck.
