I just read the tread on here about the reheasal dinner invite wording...excellent ideas...thanks!!!
However I have a problem...my FMIL is insisting on inviting every OOT guest to the dinner which amounts to around 50-60 people.
My question is..when I send everyone the invite, how do people know if I want them to come to the church for the actual rehearsal...I know this seems common sense...but you never know.
Any ideas on how to handle this that doesnt include having to call everyone and explain it to them

Re: Tricky Question about Rehearsal Dinner
same problem here! we decided not to mention the rehearsal or ceremony location on the invitation. You then just call or email the people you need present at the church to tell them the earlier time and place to be.

Re: Tricky Question about Rehearsal Dinner
that is still work I am not interested in doing. I am still a little bitter about loosing my quite peaceful night before celebration...but I guess there is no other way. thanks
Any other ideas.

Re: Tricky Question about Rehearsal Dinner
Include in the invite a small typed note that states: If you are not in the wedding you are not obligated to come to the church rehearsal unless you would like to.

Re: Tricky Question about Rehearsal Dinner
My FMIL made a separate card that reminds the Bridal Party/ Readers/ etc to come to the rehearsal and gives the time. She put these cards only in the correct invitations. But we're only have about 30 guests- about 15 invitations. So it's not so hard to slip the cards into the right envelopes. Not sure that would work if you were having a large RD.

Re: Tricky Question about Rehearsal Dinner
I am not getting married at a church, however at the RD, we are inviting all OOT guest. Here is my wording:
It's the night before the wedding. All the planning is finally done. There's time to spend with family and friends, before the bride and groom become one. Come help us celebrate the night away on the eve of Suzanne and William’s wedding day
