True Blood girls - question

True Blood girls - question

So I was watching Sunday's show last night. When the 'queen' was telling Bill about Maryann....I didn't really get it....how did she become the way she is? Is she really immortal? It seems like she was once human but I didn't get how she become the devil.

From what I got out of it, (and I could be wrong)...she is immortal and up until this poiint...we thought she was SO powerful and mysterious but the queen tells us that she is really just this stupid creature who for centuries has been trying to find the vessel that will bring God to her. She is hoping that Merlott will be her sacrafice that will bring her to her God. The queen does say that shapeshifters won't get her to her God but that its not impossible to find her God through some other vessel.

Now, I think...(lol) that Sooky is that vessel, since Maryann seemed like she couldnt figure Sooky out. I don't know its complicated....I noticed some cheesy things this episode though. Like how does Tara know she ate the heart?? and why does Bill say that he never feeds off of anyone else, thats not true??

She said something about evolution, but that doesn't make sense to me either. The book doesn't help much, the storyline with the Maenad doesn't last that long!

She basically said she 'imagined herself into existence' which I thought was lame

Interesting! So you think they're going to pull the ol' switcheroo and make Sookie the sacrifice??

i think so too! bc remember when sookie touched her and that thing happened, she is very curious with her....

interesting...i never thought that Sookie could be the vessel?? If you've read the books Sookie herself is more than just human....

this is what i got from the episode...

Maryann thru evolution has become immortal but is really not a powerful person. She is powerful thru other people's needs and desire to believe in something...she feeds off of these vibes...

The Queen said that Maenads spend all their time hoping to be united with their God..she did say that the God is real but he will never come to meet the Maenad...no ritual will cause him to come to her.

also I think maryanne can't be killed until she believes that the God Dienisus (sp?) has come and that's when she is no longer immortal.

side question: am I the only one that was not impressed with the last episode?

Definitely not impressed with the last episode! I thought the description of the maenad was pretty lame. She's immortal because she believes she is? Well, I believe I can kill her, so can I? They should've stuck with the maenad storyline from the books. They brought her a cow as an offering and she was pretty pleased.

The one thing I did understand is the only time she can be killed is when she believes the sarfice has worked to bring her god to her. So thats why Bill went to Sam, they are working on some sort of plot.

eta: when she thinks her god has come, i think she can be killed bc she lets her powers go so she is weak and at that point can be killed.

But if the God never comes, how are the going to trick her into believing he has?? Jason Stackhouse in a gas mask again?!

ITA that i think that sookie is going to be the vessel. i think the queen (anyone notice that it was Evan Rachel Wood from the movie Thirteen????) mentioned that the sacrifice would be someone immortal. yes sam....orrrrr sookie. she had that little flash thingy, and she reads minds so she's clearly a little bit non-mortal i think.

tara remembered everything she ever did under maryanne's influence bc sookie went into her mind and erased all the fog in there, remember? it was a pretty lame scene....

and i dont think bill DOES feed off anyone else. i think he drinks True Blood, it's in his house cause i remember Jessica complaining about how thirsty she was and all he had was True Blood. other than the last episode where the queen MADE him drink from someone else, i dont think i remember him feeding off anyone else.....?

Bill's full of balogna! He'll feed off someone else in a pinch. And I just plain don't like him.

She was mortal but thought herself into immortality. So the only way she can be killed is if she believes she has the ultimate vessel (Sam) and that the god will come and then in her moment of extasy she can be killed...I like the books better for the manaed story

Sookie better turn out to be part fairy as she is in the book or I am going to be really annoyed.

Ditto. I think they will though since Jason is so studly because of it, too. They really put a lot of emphasis on that. (Not that he needs the fairy blood, he could get it anyway!) They've been pretty good about mixing in some of the book's storyline with the show, but they were just so off with this maenad story- there's no *easy* way out. And I do NOT like the queen. I thought Evan Rachel Wood would be good as Sophie Ann, but no.
