Trumpets?

Trumpets?

MONTHS ago, I booked trumpeters for the ceremony music. They are playing classical processional music. Of course, like everything else, I am second guessing this. Has anybody seen trumpeters at a wedding? Indoors? I have spoken to somebody that had this at my location, and said it was wonderful....but I am not so sure. I am wondering if I should have gone w. strings. I have a harpist that will play for an hour before the ceremony, and a pianist for the cocktail hour. I am just thinking I might have too much of a mix! And NOW I find myslef looking for a strolling accordian player! I am going nuts for sure....any opinions?

Don't change it! My friend had the trumpeters at her wedding and they were awesome. It was such a dramatic exit and i loved it. The costumes they wore look amazing in pictures too. Stick with it!

Angie thank you SO much! I feel better - did you see them indoors? We aren't having the costumes - they are wearing tuxes. Did they seem too loud at all?

If if recall they played in the church but on the second floor where the organ was from above the crowd. The best was that no one suspected it so all of a sudden you heard them and it was such a grand exit!!!!! It was not too loud at all. It was also such a feeling of 'yeah now the fun starts!!!'

jenny,

A friend of mine plays the bugle, and we had him play during our introduction at the reception, and it was so awesome! Definitely one of the best parts of the evening, and people got a kick out of it.

Also, since we were married soon after 9/11, we felt we wanted to have a moment of reflection, so we had him play 'America the Beautiful,' and it was an amazing experience. A good musician will know just the right way to play under the circumstances.

I am heard The Royal Brass play at a couple of friends weddings - Church and it is beautiful. It sounds so royal. (no pun intended) And I love the outfits they wear. They usually play outside the church as the guests are arriving as well. I would do it if I were you. I think they are on this site where the ceremony music is listed. Good Luck.
