Re: Trunk Show

A trunk show is a show, usually in a bridal salon, that features one (or two) specific designer's dresses. The trunk show has the latest designs (ex...Spring 2005 line) that may or may not have been released as of yet. Often there are 'sample' sales--where you can purchase a 'sample' dress for a lower cost. There are also the 'discontinued' lines--which are no longer going to be available and can be purchased at a discount.

actually any dress by the designer can be bought at the trunk show for a 10 to 12% discount. The designer, or a rep from their company is there to answer any questions, or give expert advice on changes you want to make, etc. They can also give you reccos based on what you are looking for and styles that they think will look good on you. Theyare there to sell dresses- hence the discount and giving a sense of urgency to buy that day. I reccommend only going to a trunk show after you have looked around and feel comfortable making a final decision- or look into other trunk shows by the same designer so you can maybe go somewhere else and get the discount after you have had some time to think about it.
