I heard there is going to be a trunk show in the area for Maggie Sottero in May. This is my FAV designer. So...whats a trunk show??

Re: Trunk Show
there was a trunk show at kleinfeld when i got my dress... basically the designer was there, and all of the dresses from her current line were out -- also, you got a 15% discount if you ordered one of her dresses.
that's when i got mine, and i got to meet the designer and try on the model's dress!

Re: Trunk Show
I love Maggie Sottero too...I saw that trunk show advertised on her website. I think it was in Patchogue somewhere. Do you know if you have to make a reservation or anything? I'm not really sure how it works. I'd love to go though. I'm interested in one of her newer dresses and none of the bridal stores seem to have it. I was hoping I could see it there.
Any chance your name is Madseason cause you are a Layne Staley fan? Just a guess...I'm a huge fan!

Re: Trunk Show
you should save significant $$ if you purchase at a trunk show. i bought my dress at one (not a maggie though) and saves $500 off the listed price!

Re: Trunk Show
I have another question...
Does anyone know if its considered you are buying your dress from the store that is hosting the trunk show? Does this mean you have to have it altered there? Or are you buying it directly from Maggie Sottero and now you have to take it home and store it???

Re: Trunk Show
hhhhmmmmm...I was planning on going to Bridal Suite in Centereach for my dress and the girls. My FSIL used them in 98 and they were great. I even already stopped in there and saw a variation of my dress and the BM dresses.
I wonder if you can buy it at the trunk show and then give it to another shop for alterations!?! This isn't going to work is it? I might have to buy it from Paradise...

Re: Trunk Show
I dont know... I have a feeling you do have to have it altered there....I was there today for a bridesmaid gown, and only the girls who live out of state would be getting alterd elsewhere, but all the dresses needed to be ordered there...id call and ask
