Trunk Shows

So I'm going to a trunk show tomorrow, I've never been to one before and I was wondering what to expect! Do you really have to buy the dress right then and there??? Do they show you the whole line of the designer, or just the newest dresses??
Any advice and suggestions?

The store usually has the newest dresses from the designer. Sometimes there have girls walking around in them, you can see them, try them on. They usually give you discounts if you buy it that day, however, I wouldn't worry, any dress price is negotiable and you can always shop around for the best price.

Oh, bring a camera too. Sometimes they let you take pics...usually not but I have found a few stores that let me take pics. Bring it just in case.

i know a girl who just bought her dress from a trunk show. She met the designer and was the first person ever to buy the dress. It is not being released till next fall I think. She was also given a discount but the dress was still $3000 after the discount but she found the dress of her dreams

yep..my friend also got hers at a trunk show (kenneth pool) .. she found the dress of her dreams.. the one she had been searching for for months (she had seen a pic of thge dress on a random photographer's website & had no clue who it was by!) she got like 13% off the price...which, for this dress, was a hefty chunk of change.. haha!

the day of my kleinfeld appointment, there was a justina mccaffrey trunk show (i didn't know that before i went!)... and i tried on a bunch of dresses, and all the ones i loved were justina mccaffrey! i wanted to make some changes on my dress (it was a little mermaidy, i wanted the pickups to start higher...) and they brought Justina McCaffrey into the dressing room to meet me! It was great So I ended up getting the perfect dress, by combining two that I loved

I also did get 15% off!

my experience at 2 different trunk shows were that they really push that designer's dresses and they make it difficult for you to try on any other designers dresses.
