Ok - I feel a little silly asking about this because I feel like I should already know BUT..what is the deal with trunk shows? Are all sizes offered? I'm like a size 10 sometime 12 and I don't want to waste my time going if they wont have my size!! Also, has anyone had any luck going to trunk shows?

Re: trunk shows
don't feel silly - honestly, I have no idea either. I would think so bc you're still ordering a new dress (right?), but I'd like to know the definite answer too!

Re: trunk shows
I bought my dress at a trunk show. At trunk shows, there are more of a specific designer's dresses to choose from and sometimes (as was the case for me) the designer is there. They generally also offer a discount on that designer's dress.
The dresses that you try on are just sample sizes, but if you decide to order, they take your measurements and order your size. You receive a brand new dress, not the sample.
At a sample sale, on the other hand, you purchase the sample of the dress in whatever size that happens to be.
I had a great experience at the trunk show where I purchased my dress. The designer (Matthew Christopher) is fantastice! He helped me pick out my dress and even agreed to customize it from strapless to a tank top for me.

Thank you for the info! Where you able to get a discount on your dress at the trunk show??

Re: trunk shows
Yes. There was a discount on the dress by ordering at the trunk show. I don't remember the exact percentage. It varies by designer, but I think it's usually in the range of 10-15%. They also included the hollow to hem measurement at no additional charge.
Overall, it was really a great experience. It was cool working directly with the designer. I even wound up hiring him to be my stylist for the wedding, so he oversaw my fittings and was there at the wedding to help with the dress, etc.
