My Dh and I need a washer and dryer. With more expenses coming soon, we wanted to buy used instead of new. (Save money) I know you can get a great deal, but I was wondering if anyone has done this before and can recommend certain brands over others. We were looking to spend $300-$400. Our main concern is that it's in Excellent condition and Super Capacity. Any ideas? Thanks!

Re: Trying again... Washers and Dryers...
we just bought our Washer and Dryer from PC Richards. We've only had it for about 3 weeks but so far they are great. Not loud and HUGE!!!!! The outside size is standard but the inside drums are SO BIG!! They are Maytag and they were each approx $350

Re: Trying again... Washers and Dryers...
Just a thought. Im 2 short I cant reach the bottom inside of a top load washer. So I need a front load. They say that front loads are actually better because they use less water and there is no ajitator (Ok I cant spell that thing in the middle that spins around) Instead it brings the clothes to the top and drops them. so they are better on ure clothes!

PC Richards has a Scratch & Dent store, in Hauppague I think. I believe they are new, not samples.
In the regular PC Richards stores, there are 2-3 prices, so negotiate- they work on commissions.

Re: Trying again... Washers and Dryers...
As my mom says (especially with PC Richards) NEVER pay list price! She always gets them down! Scratch and dents are great! They dented ours when they delivered it and we got money back!!! We have a Kitchenaid and have had it for about 10 years! Very minimal issues with it (all due to my brother not knowing how to do laundry)

My parents have done the scratch and dent thing too, and their machines are fantastic! I believe they have Whirlpool machines.

Melissa;
Check FM for more detail - we have a washer and dryer we're interested in selling - came with the house but we already had our own we brought. The engineer checked them out as OK when we moved in.

I have two brand new whirlpool machines-I got the dryer scratch & dent at PC Richards for about 40% off the regular price-we paid $259 & the dryer at best buy for $279 I love them both & the dents are not in obvious places & the are still warrentied! You can haggle with PC & Best buy
