trying not to panic, not working

trying not to panic, not working

it suddenly dawned on me that I have just over a month to come up with the next deposits for FH and Duet..... and I have no clue where the money is coming from....

Anyone else freaking about paying for the wedding with the economy?

Starting to really consider the buy 10 vases, pick up 10 things of roses from Costco, voila, centerpieces...

I am constantly freaking out about paying for the wedding, but as long as we keep money in the wedding account for when payments are due we will be ok.

I'm sure you will be ok Janna, just breathe

We've been saving since we got engaged. We try to have things spaced out so that we can come up with the $ when we need it.

fh has saved money since way before we got engaged which is kind of good and we have money in the bank that is not to be touch and we have envelopes at home and we put every paycheck a percentage to each envelop so that we have money for our vendors. I have a deposit with Duet soon as well after this deposit we don't need to give money until the year of the wedding so this way we could actually go ahead and book another vendor deposit and go on the next vendor we don't book vendor after vendor we wait for the deposit so that we have that space to save. Good luck and try not to panic there is always a solution to everything hughs

Try to relax. You have 4 weeks to make the payment... is that enough for a paycheck? If not, call Duet and see if they can work a modified payment with you. They are your vendor, and they probably deal with this kind of thing all the time. Negotiate to split the payment and make an extra payment in another month if that's possible.

When we booked Bravura I put the payment on a cc, and then we both put the money in the bank for when the cc was due and we paid the balance off... would that be feasible?

It'll work out, it has to!

(PS: Good luck with the Bar results too!)

Edited: Because I'm dumb and misread FH as Future Husband and not as Fox Hollow. Call them too! The most important thing to them is to have 1/2 the money paid before the wedding. So, if you need to NOT pay this moth (or pay less) and then make their payment another month I'm at 99.9999999% sure this will be fine. SOME money is better than NO money to all businesses. I work in Customer Service and deal with this sort of thing all the time.... Especially now. We work with modified payments for customers all the time, and I'm sure all other businesses do too.

You should buy globe vases and craft stuff at Michael's and make 'snow globes' with glitter and some kind of winter scene in it. You could imitate snow with cotton puffs (although I don't know if they would float in water) and maybe an evergreen or something. I think making your own centerpieces is a great way to save money actually.

You could also have duet do the photos and then once they release them to you, you can make your own album.

I agree with Joanne 100% I think Duet will try to accomidate, maybe you can pay have of the deposit one week and then wait a few weeks and pay the second half. I would def. call them and talk to them about it, I am sure you are not the first person to ask them.

Try to relax, I am sure everything is gonna work out!!

Re: trying not to panic, not working

this might sound funny, but i had just went to a wedding in jeresy on saturday. and she was telling me that she got her flowers from a supermarket. if u have a supermarket that has a florist in it they will do it for u. she had about 12 tables and 8 bridesmaid and 8 groommens and she didn't even pay 1000 for all that. look into it it might be cheaper, fh wants us to do thats and im going tomorrow to pathmark by me and im gonna get a price. i will need less cus rh supplies the center peices, but still it will save money

I wouldn't worry - like I always say, the money will come from somewhere. Maybe you can borrow money for now. Maybe you should think of ways you can save money like with you CP

money is SO hard to save, and we've been trying since we've gotten engaged & have been able to put our downpayments down & everything but sometime's it's so tight & it stinks No worries though, we'll all manage to get through these hard finanical woes in the end.

It can be really hard to come up with the money. Is there anyway either one will let you wait another month and then give your next deposit?

don't worry, just try to save a little bit out of both your paychecks in the next few weeks and if its still not enough, ask the vendor if they'd be willing to be flexible with the upcoming payment.

Re: trying not to panic, not working

its so hard right now with the economy for everyone to come up with the extra money for deposits and things like that...try calling to see if you can push back your deposit a few weeks, explain the situation and hopefully they will understand (and think of it this way, they are still getting their money so what does it matter if its 3-4 weeks later...)
Just dont freak right now...its not worth it, freaking isnt going to make the money appear!!! Just try to stay calm (easier said than done) and it will all be ok!!!!!!

I would pay what you can to each but I would also call and let them know you will catch up on your payments asap.
Im worried too. We have a payment to the Swan Club due in January and I think Duet in March. I'm not sure I'm going to be able to afford both but I'm going to give both what I can. Luckily for Duet, I can always float it on a credit card if I have to, but I hope not to.

It definitely is tough and worrisome in this economy. Your a smart lady Janna, you will totally figure it out. I am sure everything will be fine.

Re: trying not to panic, not working

it would be ok if FH's job wasnt playing around with his hours and telling him he doesnt need to come in this week because there isn't much for him to do.

I will have paychecks between now and then, but making sure I have enough for rent and bills is the hard part
