Has anyone gone alone to try on dresses? There is one at David's Bridal that I HAVE to go try today before it's gone, incase it's the one! But I have to go alone :( is this sad and pathetic? It's kind of how I feel and I really didn't want to buy a dress until much closer to the wedding but I feel like I have to go see this dress to rule it in or out.

I've done that, and I loved it. No one whispering in your ear how awful or how beautiful it is. Just your opinion alone.

I think it's a great idea to go alone. We went with my friend the other night and even though I went in with intentions of not being that person that tells her what I think and I totally was that person! I think going alone is a great way to decided what you really want with no one telling you what you should do.

I actually found my dress when I was by myself.
The first time I went dress shopping was with my mom, sister and bridesmaids. I mostly did it just so they could have the experience but I knew I didn't want a parade of people talking me into the wrong dress. Plus my dream dress wasn't at that particular salon.
So one day during work, I went to RK Bridal on my lunch break and asked if they had my dream gown. They did and I tried it on by myself. I KNEW it was the one the minute I put it on. It was kind of sad that my mom and sister weren't there with me, but a week later, they both came to see me in it before making the deposit.
I always knew I would find my dress by myself - I just had a feeling lol

thanks girls! I'm going at 4 today to david's bridal to try on a gown that I keep starring at online. it's a little daring for me but I just have this gut instinct that I have to try it!

Wow, this makes me feel better! I was thinking recently of making my next dress appointment a solo trip and FH was like, 'No way, that's weird, you need to have people with you!' But I want to have only MY opinion right now. Then go back with my mom, FMIL and MOH/FSIL.

i did the same thing there was this dress i had to try in before i could try on any other dresses and have an open mind..and it was only at 2 places in NYS so i went to RK bridal by myself my parents dont live in the city,.tried it on and liked but then i knew it wasnt for me so im glad i did bc if i didnt i would have always thought about that dress and what it looked like..i said go! and show us a pic!!

Good luck to you!! I often think it would be nice to go alone, rather than picking who comes and who doesn't and who doesn't want to schlep to this store and who likes one style but its not your style at all. I might end up doing that too! Lol

GIRLS: going alone was so refreshing AND I SAID YES TO THE DRESS. haha I put a deposit on because they are discontinuing it. It is a White by Vera Wang normally $1,448 and I got it for $600! They had two sizes left. one was way to small and the other fit PERFECTLY. I know I plan on losing weight (like all us brides) but I knew if I didn't lock it in, I would regret it. It is the one! and I made an appointment for this sunday to show my family and bridesmaids :)
I'm so happy for you...congrats! Wasn't it great going by yourself?!

It was awesome! I don't think I could try on a bunch of dresses with too many people there. Even just taking 1 girl I think is a good idea. But alone was great.
