Trying on gowns

When you go to try on gowns do you need to bring your own strapless bra or do they provide you with one?

Most places will lend you a longline bra to try on with the dresses if you need one.

That said, I wore a strapless bra and regular undies (i.e., NOT a thong) when I went to try on dresses so I wouldn't have to use theirs (bra).

One place I went to did provide it but another didnt. I would bring one just in case.

Definitely bring one!
When I went to my first fitting I brought the bra I planned on wearing for the wedding, and the lady doing my fitting almost fainted when she saw it... There weren't enough things wrong with it.. I ended up with cups in my dress.

Is it true that you have to make appointments to look and try on gowns?

most places you do need to make an appointment.

Yup most places you have to make appts. I never brought a bra. Some places gave me one and others didn't.

I brought my own. Wedding Center doesn't take appointment. Monday nights is a good night to go they are open til 9 and it's usually slow. You get better attention then on a crazy Saturday.

Same here. Every store I went to thanked me for dressing appropriately, too. (Seriously!)

I also brought my own heels. It was just easier. That, and I doubt any of the stores I went to had a 34DD in the back.
