Hi ladies! For those of you who's dresses came in early, did your shop let you come in to try it on before starting the fittings? I'm so upset...my dress came in 8 or 9 days ago & when I called they told me that I could call back to make an appt. to try it on w/out getting a fitting. So my schedule cleared up a bit & I just called to make the appt. for this Saturday and NOW the woman tells me 'OH NO! The dress is in storage & it CANNOT be taken out of storage until you start getting your official fittings!!!' And she would not bend. This is like the FIFTH time one person there has sworn one thing to me, only to have someone else tell me that they were wrong & they cannot help me. I've so had it with them... I wasn't able to try my dress on in my size before ordering it & I'm scared now that it's going to be like 5 sizes too small...I wanted to try it on to ease my mind a bit

I am so sorry. I remember you having trouble with this shop before. I would call and make an appointment to try it on. Make something up, like you need to see if the jewelry will match or something. Just so you can put it on and ease your mind.

If nothing else you should be able to go see it to make sure it is the right dress, right color etc. I would tell them that you paid for this dress and you want to see it to make sure you got what you ordered!

You ABSOLUTELY have a right to see the dress to make sure it is not stained, the wrong color, the wrong size, etc.
Call back and INSIST on at least seeing the dress before the fittings.

That is crazy, my dress shop told me to come visit my dress as often, as I like. Even before my dress came in they told me i could visit the sample, and once it was in they were like come on down. Its your dress you paid for it, you should be able to see it when ever you like.

I totally agree with the above posters. Call them and insist that they let you see the dress, or just show up at the shop. You paid for it, it's yours!
If you've had alot of problems with the shop maybe you should consider taking the dress and bringing it some place else for alterations.

Thank you SOOOO much ladies...I don't know why, but when it comes to dealing with some vendors I get all shy & need a push...& this is 1 time in my life when I SHOULD be more forceful...
Anyways, you gave me courage & I just called back, spoke with someone else & guess what?! Suddenly it's not locked away in storage somewhere anymore! This lady let me make an appt. to come see it. It's stupid - I wasn't forceful or anything...I just pretended that I hadn't called earlier & the shop's answer changed once again. It doesn't matter now though - I have an appt. so it better be there when I get there! They won't let me try it on, but I'm going to see if that changes when I get there too Thanks again!!

LOL Awesome! I wish the ladies at my shop were 1/2 as understanding as yours are!

It's funny, I was thinking of doing that, then changed my mind, but now I've pretty much changed it back again. I'll probably bring it to Angel Bridals (where my mom got her dress) since they've always been so nice there. Thanks for the tip though!

Thanks - I'm so glad to know that I'm not the only one that feels that way! They're making me feel like a PITA for even asking...like it's not normal!!
