Trying to bulk up my arms/shoulders/back.

HELP! I am so skinny you can see bones!!! I am trying to build some muscle on my back, shoulders and arms. The problem is I hate going to the gym and get bored with pushups and dumbbells. Is there anything fun I can do?

Hmmm... well I hate to say it but there's no real 'fun' way of bulking up your upper body!
I think one of the best things you can do is push-ups. They're a great upper body strengthening move and you can do them anywhere. If you do them every day, you'll definately see a difference, especially in your triceps and chest.

Now for shoulders and back, I don't really think there's any way that you can build them up without lifting weights or doing some kind of sport, like rowing or swimming.
If you can find a chin-up bar, you can have FH help you do chin-ups/pull-ups. That's a great way to build up your back (but they're not fun! )

I agree! working out is not always fun. I hate to say this because I know you know this, but if you want something bad enough, it isn't fun to get it! I hate working and commuting, but I need the money, that kind of thing.

All I am saying is stick it out and when you see results it actually becomes fun! I love to work out because I see my body changing which motivates me even more to get to the gym.

It makes you a strong person inside and out!

Good Luck!

I agree that there's really no way around the weights....but, you should also make sure you're eating plenty of protein and good carbs. The protein is essential for rebuilding your muscles after each workout--which of course makes them stronger and bigger.

I agree with that too!

And don't do light wieghts and high reps.

Do 8-12 reps MAX per set as heavy as you can with good form.

That doesn't work
My whole diet is basically protein and carbs. I don't eat much fat or oils because of my stomach problems.

Swimming and rowing sounds like fun

I am going to keep doing my boring pushups and increase my weights.

Can you guys think of any ohysical activities that can help me? What about digging holes?

Kickboxing realy bulked up my back and shoulders..
