From soup to nuts - what did you or are you spending on your HM?

We did Fiji, so I'm def. in the $10K++ box. We used miles for our flight to LA - so we saved a little there (not that it made much of a diff. at that point).

i think it depends upon the length of the HM, the hotels you stay in and if you fly first class, business or coach.

4K - going to hawaii for 12 nights. Saved money by using frequent flyer miles for flights and interisland connections. Also, became a Starwood preferred quest and saved 35% on Shereton room rates, got 2 nights for free, and discounted car rental. Without all of that my HM would easily be around 7,500 to 8,000.

We are doing 6 nights in the Domincan Republic at the Secrets resort in Punta Cana. It came out to about 5k which was our budget

my fiance and I are taking a 8 day cruise around the caribbean.. Including airfare it was about 3,000

Unfortunately, we are spending over 10K because of the amount of time we'll be in Italy (this cost is for the honeymoon alone but we're also getting married there.) We're doing our wedding ceremony in Rome, then going for a week on the Amalfi Coast independently, and finally taking a 3 week tour of the country.

I think that if you do a tour or all-inclusive you can really save $$$. We did our first TRULY independent trip where we did everything on our OWN in Paris last month and it cost over $5000 just for 10 days. It was sooo worth it though but more $$ that way!

Honestly it probably depends on what type of lodging you get (luxury or more understated)... and which restaurants you choose (if it's not an all-inclusive or a cruise.) That's where obviously the bulk of the costs come in. If you can get discounted or free airfare through the tour company or sky miles of course that brings the costs down. There isn't really an average though I would think since we're all going to such a range of places and price brackets. Good luck!!!
