Much appreciated.

Re: Trying to find reception musicians
i would post this in vendors helping brides.. Stan Weist contacted me.. i didn't like the high price. I'm waiting for Sterling Music to send me my information. Someone had told me a good string quartet would be about 600 as to Stan Weist wanted 1200. Then again, Stan Weist is a huge name and well known.

That's pretty pricey considering all the other things that need to be taken care of.
Oh well.. the FW and I'll keep looking.
Maybe I should get out my old guitar. No.. wait.. scratch that idea.. I want people to ATTEND my wedding.. haha

lol @ guitar... good to see another guys on here....
Ask about a trio with Sterling Music. I'm sure it would be about 400ish if someone got 600 for 4 people. Check out vendor section undre cermony music..there is a voilion/flute combo that sounded great but i didn't want that sound a the wedding. Flute= great instrument but rather have stringed instrument.s

Re: Trying to find reception musicians
Try www.gigmasters.com
On my budget webpage there are a few people at around $125 per person per hour. There's also my jazz trio, National Boulevard, who will play for $375 for 3 hours or so.
OctGroom....I've looked at Stan Wiest and while his demo was great it just didn't fit into our budget. Try Sterling and Capriccio Ensembles....they were more reasonable but charge back their travel fees (from NYC). Not sure where your reception is but for us it got pricey.
Good Luck!

Sterling didn't say exactly but we're assuming it's tolls and mileage and maybe gas.

Re: Trying to find reception musicians
Thanks.. It's funny you should mention those two vendors. I did email both of them.. then forwarded the responses to my better half.
I'll talk it over with her.. Right now I'm just looking for any alternatives or a vendor I may have missed. Appreciate your help!
