When I went on my HM I had an extra Othro Evra BC patch to wear for the week I normally don't wear one at all (and menstruate during that time). But after 1 day I started bleeding like I wasn't wearing one at all so I took it off. I got my period like normal.
So we want to TTC starting Dec or Jan 05 and I figured I might as well stop BC for now to get my body back to normal. Is it OK I go off of it w/o contacting my gyno? He's so hard to get in touch with.
Thanks Mary

Re: TTC related question
I don't think it would be a problem. If it is like the pill, I got off the pill without consulting with a doctor. Look it up online if you still haven't spoken to your doctor.

Re: TTC related question
Whenever I've gone off I've never talked to my doctor first! No problems here though. Start taking prenatals though! Good Luck.

Re: TTC related question
Can you do it? Yes. But I wouldn't. When we decided to start TTC I went to the Dr. 3 months before we wanted to start trying to tell her I wanted to stop taking the pill, find out if there's anything I need to know, to see if I needed any tests-blood and genetic and things like that.

Re: TTC related question
Well I plan on switching gyno's anyway...the one I have now....he's ok but the wait in his office is unreal. 2 hour waits. Forget that.
Thanks ladies

Re: TTC related question
You can also start taking folic acid. Which some doctors reccomend. Here's a link to a web-site that Dr's answer questions about all of this stuff: Baby Center

Re: TTC related question
I didn't tell my Dr that I was going off the pill. And when I was at my 6th month checkup, I mentioned to him that I am stopping the pill and he suggested to start taking pre-natal vitamins...
