TTC/post orthotricyclen

TTC/post orthotricyclen

So I went off Othrotricyelen with about 5 days left because I was testing positive I then had a chemical pregancy/af.

So Dh and I decided that this is the second time I have gotten pregnant while taking orthotricyclen. Both packs that got me pregant were purchased at the same Navy Hospital and I have a few friends who now have babies who got their refills at the same time so I think the pharmacy must have had bad batches or something.

So now I am not taking anything and we are actively trying. We were both really dissapointed last month.

So, I'm hoping I didn't screw myself up since I stopped the pack early and I'm trying to figure out when AF may come again. Was anyone else in this situation?

I'm not charting temps or anything yet because we figure if I got pregnant two times while on the pills (neither went full term) that hopefully we won't have two much of a problem but I'm a bit concerend since I have no clue when AF is going to show up again.

I would *guess* since you stopped 5 days early (you had 5 active pills left??) AF might be early....but I would call the dr's ofc.

Shana,

I'm not even sure what my 'real' question is.

I've just heard that if you don't finish the pack you can mess up your cycles.

I'm on day 28 now and no AF. She should have showed up but I don't feels any signs of her. I took a test on tuesday and got a negative and Dh said I don't have the look (that I had the other two times) so he told me I'm not allowed to take anymore tests unless he sees it.

So, I guess what I'm asking is for those who didn't finish the pack or for those that did..

How long were your first few cycles. I used to be really regular and then the orthotricyclen made me so regular I could set my watch by it.

I'm not in that big of a rush because I would prefer not to carry large in July or August 05 especially in Florida but if it does take soon Dh and I would be estatic because we know his deployment schedule and he would be back in time for the birth!

I've stopped pills early..and gotten AF early. Your body doesn't know if it's on pill #1 or Pill #15....when you stop, however many days you get AF after stopping the pill (normally) I would think you would jsut get AF the same amount of days after you stopped that last pill (early) It doesn't mess up your cycles...it just shifts the timing of them.

If you had a CP or were PG and lost it early..your body is dealing with a trauma and needs tiem to recover from that. Either that or you really are PG. Everyone is different, and you might not get a positive until a few more days.

I would call the dr's ofc and explain the situation and see what they say.

When I came off BC, AF varied between 26-31 days for the first few months. I stopped taking them like 3 days before last week of active pills.
If you are on day 28 I would give it a few more days to see if AF comes.
Have you tried getting an ovulation predictor? They give you like a weeks worth of predictors so you could start a day or two before you would normally ovulate and then track it the days after.
BTW - Has anyone contacted the place where you all got your pills to see what happened?
Good luck!

It's a real large Naval Hospital that orders them in bulk sizes and gives us a year supply at a time.

Luckily since they were only given to dependants everyone was married and most were very suprised and after the shock wore off were very happy. They all ended up with girls also! lol

I can't believe how many times things like this happen though another good friend of mine was on the patch and she got samples from her doc. Needless to say atleast 6 women in that office are now 14 weeks because the samples were a bad batch. They all thought the patch would make it easier to not make mistakes but it didn't work out that way. My friend is single and only 21 but taking the news well.

I'm going to give it another week and test again. I'll keep you all posted! Thanks!

Always check the expiration on samples from the Dr. I have gotten almost expired samples a few time (for all medicine, from the pill to antibiotics).
