Music is a very important thing to me. I have been involved in musical theater since I'm 8 years old, and I have always LOVED Billy Joel.
My most fav musical of all time is 'Joseph and the amazing technicolor dreamcoat'.
I have 2 sing lyrics that have always spoken to me, to the core of who I am:
1. From Joseph: 'If you think it want it dream it then its real, you are what you feel'
2. From the Billy Joel song Second Wind: 'I survived all those long lonely days when it seemed I did not have a friend, but all I needed was a little faith so I could catch my breath and face the world again..'
So the question of the day is:
What song lyrics speak (or have spoken) to you?

My favorite line EVER from any song is from a mb20 song... the song is 'Girl Like That' and the lyric is:
She gets sad when there's nothing going on / she says it makes her feel damn worthless
That's totally how I feel in my life, and I always have! In high school, college, even since then -- I have always liked being busy and involved or else I felt worthless. I loved that Rob Thomas knew a girl who felt the same way and was able to identify that. My best guy friend recognized the same quality in me and totally 'gets' why I felt so strongly about the lyric.

The Impossible Dream from Man of La Mancha. It's really how I try to live my life:
To dream ... the impossible dream ... To fight ... the unbeatable foe ... To bear ... with unbearable sorrow ... To run ... where the brave dare not go ... To right ... the unrightable wrong ... To love ... pure and chaste from afar ... To try ... when your arms are too weary ... To reach ... the unreachable star ...
This is my quest, to follow that star ... No matter how hopeless, no matter how far ... To fight for the right, without question or pause ... To be willing to march into Hell, for a Heavenly cause ...
And I know if I'll only be true, to this glorious quest, That my heart will lie will lie peaceful and calm, when I'm laid to my rest ... And the world will be better for this: That one man, scorned and covered with scars, Still strove, with his last ounce of courage, To reach ... the unreachable star ...

awesome question !!!!!!!
LeAnn Rimes: What I Cannot Change
i am huge worry wort when it comes to other peoples feelings i am am terrified of hurting someones feelings or someone feeling sad, embarrsed etc i have so much empathy that it actually is a negative ,i am trying to learn how to accept what i cannot change
I will learn to let go what I cannot change I will learn to forget what I cannot change I will learn to love what I cannot change Yeah I don’t know my father Or my mother well enough It seems like every time we talk We can’t get passed the little stuff The pain is self-inflicted I know it’s not good for me health Yeah but it’s easier to please the world Then it is to please myself

I'm a big Billy Joel fan too, and I've always felt that the lyrics to Vienna just were almost meant about me, the verses specifically. I should REALLY heed its advice:
Slow down you crazy child You're so ambitious for a juvenile But then if you're so smart tell me why Are you still so afraid? Where's the fire, what's the hurry about? You better cool it off before you burn it out You got so much to do and only So many hours in a day
But you know that when the truth is told That you can get what you want Or you can just get old You're gonna kick off before you even get halfway through When will you realize...Vienna waits for you
Slow down you're doing fine You can't be everything you want to be Before your time Although it's so romantic on the borderline tonight (tonight) Too bad but it's the life you lead You're so ahead of yourself That you forgot what you need Though you can see when you're wrong You know you can't always see when you're right(you're right)
You got your passion you got your pride But don't you know that only fools are satisfied? Dream on but don't imagine they'll all come true When will you realize Vienna waits for you
Slow down you crazy child Take the phone off the hook and disappear for a while It's alright you can afford to lose a day or two When will you realize... Vienna waits for you.

I don't really know what song lyrics speak to me personally, depends on the day.
But a lot make me think of FH. In fact the reason we picked Don't Want to Miss A Thing as our song is the beautiful lyrics.
I love musicals though....
My absolute favorite is Jeckyl and Hyde.
Oh that makes me think of a song with beautiful words
Then someone like you, found someone like me, and suddenly nothing will ever be the same. My hearts taken leap, and I feel so alive, cause someone like you loves me.
Actually my favorite song ever and what would have been my wedding song was from Jeckyl and Hyde, it was originally supposed to be the center of the show. But it never made it into the musical (hence why its not our song). Its called 'Love Has Come of Age'
I had never touched a hand That felt as soft as rain until tonight I had never known a kiss Could make me feel this way until tonightBut here we are now Feeling things we've never felt before
I never knew that I could feel such wonder I never dreamed that love could be like this Yet in this rapture, I'm swept away Lost in your eyes For tonight, love has come of age
I had never dreamed that I Would lose my heart so soon until tonight I had never felt my heart Racing with the moon until tonight
Now and forever Let me live inside your sweet embrace I never knew that I could feel such wonder I never dreamed that love could be like this Yet in this rapture, I'm swept away Lost in your eyes For tonight, love has come of age
If I could make this moment last forever If only I could make the time stand still Before the dawn I would find a way For you and I For tonight, love has come of age Tonight, love has come of age
I am a musical theater girl too... If I could have played any role in any musical it would have been Eponine in Les Mis, Lucy in Jeckyl and Hyde, or Julie La Verne in Show Boat.

I would have LOVED to play Eponine!!
But my Fav role of all time was Carrie in Carousel.
