Tulips in June

Tulips in June

I was inspired by the centerpiece thread and I was thinking about what I can get. Tulips are really pretty and inexpensive (I think... are they) so I was thinking of doing purple and white tulips. My wedding is in June, my question is are tulips more springtime? Can anyone suggest a purple summer flower?

Thanks!

You should check with your florist. I'm using tulips but my wedding is the end of April.

heat isn't good for tulips, so June could be an issue

The best time for tulips is early April - early May, so I am not sure how good they will be for your June wedding..

Roses also won't do too well in the heat, or I'd suggest those.

What about purple poseys?

Here are some from theknot.com

roses are probabaly ok- they are a little delicate- but they are avaialable year round, and I think they natural bloom int eh sumer around here.
My friend had ivory roses & calal llies in her bouquet, & purples callas & ivory roses for us ( the BP)

You could do purple rosees & purple calla lillies.
