Re: Tummy weight loss
I'm skinny myself and people will say 'you have nothing' about my stomach, but you can't know unless it's yourself. It probably looks like nothing to most people, but when I see that I'm gaining a little something, it's going to drive me crazy even if it's not technically overweight.

I can understand that. ANd I thikn when you are skinny, a little blaor or weight gainshows up more.
But Jen, liek everyone said, drink water, cut down on alchohal, salt & caffeine especailly right before the weding.
You can't spot reduce, but if you do cardio, you will loose fat, & it that is your only problem area, is should help reduce it alittle.
For strength, try a pilates video.
After all that, try a girdle type product. I have a pair Spanx that do wonders for the whole tummy-butt- thighs area.

Re: Tummy weight loss
Just for you Jenn It was emailed to me.....
CONCERNED ABOUT TOO MANY CARBS IN YOUR DIET? For those of you who watch what you eat, here's the final word on nutrition and health. It's a relief to know the truth after all those conflicting medical studies.
1. The Japanese eat very little fat and suffer fewer heart attacks than Americans.
2. The Mexicans eat a lot of fat and suffer fewer heart attacks than Americans.
3. The Chinese drink very little red wine and suffer fewer heart attacks than Americans.
4. The Italians drink excessive amounts of red wine and suffer fewer heart attacks than Americans.
5. The Germans drink a lot of beers and eat lots of sausages and fats and suffer fewer heart attacks than Americans.
CONCLUSION: Eat and drink what you like.
Speaking English is apparently what kills you.

Re: Tummy weight loss
I am not going to chime in with everyone else (even though I do think you are tiny and look fine) but I think eating healthy carbs (whole grains and non-processed carbs- only ones that come from fruit, potatoes and lowfat dairy)
Stay away from carbonation and foods that contain a lot of sodium. Drink lots of water. Believe it or not, fiber bloats you so don't over do it on high fiber foods.
Something else that has worked for me (although I have not been doing great lately- I am getting back on the fat farm as of February first ) Eating smaller meals more often. I find that eating bigger meals less often makes me bloat and hold weight around my belly. I do better when I eat smaller meals five times a day.
Another trick I learned (since eating past your full point can bloat you also) is to stop eating as soon as you take your first deep breath during a meal. That 'sigh' is actually your stomach telling you that it is full. Anything you consume after the fact is what causes bloating and weight gain.
Finally, something I have started doing (i will tell you if it works) is since I am not one to set time aside for working out, when I am sitting I try to contract and release my stomach muscles in sets of ten. I do it at work, when driving- anytime I am sitting. It helps . . .
You will be stunning in your dress for Donna's wedding!

Re: Tummy weight loss
Jen I have the same problem and nothing seems to work! So if you find that anyone's suggestions do the trick, please fill me in. Overall I'm pretty skinny, but I have the dreaded pooch! I've actually given up on getting rid of it completely. But I will try again if you give me hope!

Re: Tummy weight loss
the problem here is that i am a really picky eater...
I HATE most vegetables, most meats...I HATE FISH of all kinds...
which leaves very little else but carbs to eat
I know for me working out is probably the best solution but i was hoping i could do something else to drop some pounds in a short amount of time...
THANKS EVERYONE FOR THIER SUGGESTIONS

Hey Jenn!!!! I wasn't sure if you were on!
Oh boy, a picky eater- that's tough . . .
Well what are the healthiest foods that you enjoy? What carbs do you eat regularly?

OMG, i am the same exact way! i dont eat any veggies (does corn count?), i like meat, but dont seem to eat it much. i wont touch fish. i pretty much only like pasta, pizza, bagels, stuff like that. Carb Heaven! i'm having the same problem. i have a little 'pouch' as i call it.. and i DONT want it there for my wedding. I have like 38 to drop the belly weight. Jenn, if you find somethign that works, let me know!

Re: Tummy weight loss
Stay away from carbonated beverages too, they can bloat you up , your stomach will look bigger then it is. I know you like carbs, but you dont have to cut them out NOW, if you did it for two weeks say before the wedding, and no soda, that would be enough to reduce your stomach!

I know i am stopping the snacks...that WILL GO! SODA...i can't..i love it tooo much but i do dring tab and diet coke
