Turks & Caicos

Anyone been? Is it couples only, or singles resorts as well? How long is the flight?

TIA

Re: Turks & Caicos

I went to Club Med there a few years ago. I'm not a big fan of the Club Med experience. What little I saw of the island outside of Club Med was fine. Beautiful beaches and we had great weather in January. There was another resort down the beach that had a very small casino.

The flight seemed long because we had a stop in the Dominican Republic each way, but it wasn't awful. I don't remember how long it was -- probably somewhat longer than flying to San Juan.

What type of vaca are you looking for?

my brother just got back from their from their honeymoon. They loved it, great beaches. The flight is about 3 hrs from NY.

The only thing they didn't like was that the island is under lots of construction, lots of building there.

It is a typical caribbean destination, everything closed on sundays, shuts down at 8pm, everything, food is expensive. They stayed at the West Palm Beach Club I do believe. Everything else was amazing, the water, the beach, their hotel.

i went to club med in 2000 and had a blast.
that resort in particular is really for singles/adults.

i dont think it is 'couple-oriented'

i heard the ocean club is fabulous.

i thought turks was the prettiest beach i have ever seen im my life.

the scuba is one of the best in the world.

its definitely worth a visit!!

I visited Club Med in 2001 and the weather was gorgeous as was the beaches. Gotta love that water. The week I was there (in Feb.) it was too rough to scuba/snorkel, but the beaches were fabulous. As others have said there was a lot of construction going on.

We had a direct flight from JFK, it was about 3 hours.

FH and I went with 3 other couples in early March of this year and we loved it. We rented a house and the price was comparable to the resorts there. There are a few islands, and you can find resorts for couples and singles. I heard the Grace Bay Club is really nice and couple oriented.

The house was www.villadeligera.com The company who does the renting is www.seafeathers.com

They have all different size houses. I'd highly recommend it.

Good luck!
