When I decided to lease my car, I was talked into leasing it for four years. I have 16 months to go and I am hoping to turn it in sooner. I have a two door and I want to get a four door. I think I am going to have to wait until it gets closer to the time my lease will be up.
Anyone have any idea how much sooner you can turn it in? I know that the dealership will only do this if I get another car through them.

I turned my car in early, but only a month or two and that is because there was a promotion going on to get me into another car... i was a bit pissed though because i made my payment first, then went to the dealership, so i ended up getting screwed out of one payment... but i got a great deal, so it all worked out in the end...

0 - 6 months by most places is kinda acceptable.
7mth and up normally is consider early termination and requires fee's and what not
i would contact the bank to discuss your options. you can turn the car in whenever you want...just $$$ involved...might not be worth it or tell him, you would like a different car.
its kinda a dealership benefit to get the car back so they can sell it when it's worth more but then again, they make it look like you doing a bad thing, charge ya, then sell it and make more then they would of

I turned in my car 3 mos early. But that was Volkswagon. I did not lease a new Volks. I only lease cars and I would never lease longer than 39 mos. I get ants in my pants waiting for a new car.
Most leased cars go to auction on turn in.

They go back to their manufacturer and then to a dealer Auction. At dealer auction the cars get sold to a Brand Name Car Dealer or a Used car dealer and then they get re sold on a dealer lot. Thats the process

We have a 4 yr lease on our Trailblazer, but we have the option of turning it in a year early IF we get another GM vehicle.
