Turns out we ARE going to have to move around the time the baby is born!
I am so upset - we get back from our 1st visit and we are ecstatic about the visit, and my landlord was at the house taking care of stuff... we told him about the pregnancy and we are due in april, and he said he was looking to move back into the house around then. He said he could give us until the end of the summer maybe, but now I am so upset....
Angelo has to find another job in the fall. We still wouldnt be able to afford to buy a house, and we will need a 3 bedroom house somewhere close to where we are now - Huntington. Plus we have a cat and everywhere always seems to say 'no pets'
what are we going to do?
Would it be better to move when pregnant, or move with a newborn?

I say move ASAP! This way you guys can adapt to ur new environemt. make ur babyroom and besides after the baby is born.. the last thing u will want to do is fix a new house. U will have too much on ur plate. JMO. Im sorry ur feeling bummed about this but think of it this way. u will be starting out fresh. New marriage, new house, new baby.... Dont let anyhting get u down in the dumps. be happy! U have all these great thigs happening to u... just try to look at the bright side of things.

Agreed. Move ASAP while you're pregnant. It will be too hectic and not necessarily safe with an infant around.

Don't worry. Everything happens for a reason. I agree with above poster. move ASAP and set up your new place. You don't want to buy now anyway with this crazy market. Who knows what will happen in a couple of years. Hang in there, it will work itself out.

IMHO Move while pregnant... My parents moved into their house about a month after I was born and my mom said it was absolute hell, because not only was I only about a month old, it was sooo hot (they moved in august). You'll find something, not too worry. Good luck!
EAT: After reading the other post about it being a crazy market I had to add something about that too. The market is making a huge change, so wait a year or two and it will be a complete buyers market (where right now, it's neither a buyers or a sellers)... I work with a lot of real estate agents and they all foresee these huge changes in the market for the near future.

aaaww, Liza!!!!!!! I'd start looking now, and try to move soon, so you can be all settled before the baby arrives! I'll volunteer to help you move boxes as a pregnant lady should not be doing any of the lifting and moving!!!

so are all fo you ladies- thank you for your kind words - DH is hard to get reassurance out of now becuase he is bummed too about this...
The good news is that Angelo works for a moving company - he does estimations - a close friend of ours is helping us out by giving him PT work - so when the time comes to move, we probablty will be hooked up with a moving company...
I just hope we luck out with the location - we live rigt in Huntington village - our whole life is here.... Maybe we will find something here again...
I dont forsee us ever buying a house, it is just too much money.

Look now!!!! You'd be surprised what the pennysaver can find you. We were 'kicked' out of our old apartment and told to find a new place to live because they needed to find a place for their MIL since FIL just passed away. We went everywhere, looking.
Then we tried a place in the Pennysaver, and they are the greatest people!!! They even have the same last name as my DH, which we didn't know at first. They came to our wedding!! Just don't underestimate finding places in unusual spots. You can find it!!!

Pregnant.
I moved when I was literally 3 days past my due date.
4 reasons it is good:
1. You really have NO IDEA - I promise NO IDEA - how tired you will be when you have that little newborn. I don't care if you have helped raise 100 nieces, nephews and friends. Having a baby wears you down, especially for the first 3 months. You are just physically and emotionally SHOT.
2. It is soooo nice to have the nursery ready for the baby... not a 'makeshift' nursery - but a real place for you to spend time with your baby. Plus it is less stuff to move from place a to place b.
3. You won't have to stop every 3 minutes to breastfeed, change a diaper, burp a baby, coddle the baby.
and MOST IMPORTANT.
4. As a pregnant lady you are given the leave to DO NOTHING. You can't paint.. but you can pick the paint colors. You can't move the furniture.. but you can tell everyone where the furniture needs to go.

I agree with the others, it's easier to move while pregnant (especially for the mother-to-be! ). Babies don't respond well to the chaos and change of moving.

Oh no!!! I'm so sorry. Given the choice, I would move asap. I would imagine it would be equally difficult to move the more pregnant you are as it is when you have a newborn to take care of. Besides, don't you want to be settled in your new home before your baby gets here? I would think you would have less headaches that way.

move now......at least you can still do things b-4 the baby comes...sorry to hear that you have to move.......my uncle might be renting his house (we just lost my aunt...his wife....and he lives in florida most of the time and his daughter lives in the basement apartment in Dix hills) FM i will find out 4 u good luck

I would move while pregnant. One of my co-workers is due this November, and they are moving from their manhattan apartment to their new house on L.I. (actually are doing that today!) She seems to be handling all of it really well though.

I agree move now! Its so hard to move when youre really pregnant like I did, but I think it would be much harder once the baby is born and you dont want to leave looking to the last minute. Good Luck!!

Definitely move whilel pregnant, while it is not ideal and you have to be careful with lifting and whatnot, after you have a baby it will just be too much for you, i watch my friend that has a 6 mos old and trust me you will not be able to deal with packing and such, they require ALL your attention, Good Luck
