Tux

Tux

I haven't gone for tuxes yet. I'll probably go in the next week or two. Does anyone have some good advice. What to look for? What to ask? I've never picked out a tux before or even paid much attention to them, so I have no idea what to do.

Make sure you choose a place that allows the guys to try the tuxes on, then, since you don't know what you want yet.

We went to Black Tie Tuxedos in Smithtown, and they had tuxedos lined up throughout the store to look at and decide what styles they had and what you wanted to try on.

We went to Tuxedo Park their service is great the sales person spent almost 2 hours with us and never rushed us. They have a really good selection.

Things to remember:

Ask them for something classic. They look better in pics and you won't look back on your pics and thing OMG!!! what were we thinking.

Also, the groom might want to rent a higher quality tux and then have the groomsmen get something not so high end (they'll appreciate the cost savings)

I went to Mens Wearhouse yesterday..looked through a book, picked out a Calvin Klein for FH and Kenneth Coles for everyone else. Took 20 mins and was very easy.
FH was $149, the rest $119.

So it won't matter if Groom is in a different tux than the bridal party??

Bring a swatch of your dress and your bridesmaids dresses so you can make sure you like the way everything looks together. Try to have fun with it!

I think it would be fine either way. Groom should definitely wear a different vest though.

Nope. My DH wore a different tux than the rest of the guys - his was pinstriped, the guys were solid.
