Tux advice...please help me!

we went to get FH's tux today and they had nothing for him to try on, he was bummed because hes never even wore a tux before and has no idea what will look good on him. Is this normal for him NOT to try one on? If its normal, then we'll just have to deal with it, but if its not normal, then we'll try somewhere else. Thanks for any advice you can offer!!!!

We haven''t shopped for tuxes yet...but I would think that this isn''t normal. At least he should be able to try something on...where did you go? Maybe try somewhere else to see if you get the same response? If there was nothing to try on...what did they have in the store?

When we went shopping for tuxes, the same thing happened to us and we were very surprised. Several places told us to just look through a book, and we weren''t happy about that.

Then a few girls mentioned Elite in Westbury I think it is, and Bonaventures which I think was Garden City. We went to both places and wound up getting the tuxes through Bonaventures and were very pleased. Great service, nice tuxes and he was able to try on many different styles. I think you should definitely find a place that let''s the men try on the tuxes. I''m not sure it those locations that I wrote about above are good for you, but I''m sure there are some other places that will do the same.

Good luck!

actually, it canbe pretty normal - happened alot to fh and i - they never had jacket big enough for him - he''s 6''3' w/ broad shoulders....we finally found a place for him to try on stuff - but then they wanted to charge us 200 per tuxedo - they gave us a 100 dollar credit so even fh''s wouldn''t be free! we thanked them and then, since we knew what he lookied good in, went back to men''s wearhouse where they don''t have any you try on.....we ordered them and paid like 110 each...
