My dress is very light ivory. My BM's dresses are called platinum - kind of a dark silver color. FH wants to do a charcoal gray tux - which I like, but the only problem is, he would have to wear a white shirt with it, right? I don't think an ivory shirt would look good with the charcoal gray. Would that be really bad if my dress is light ivory? Any other ideas about what might be a good look for the tuxes?
Thanks!

Re: Tux help
I would not go with the ivory shirt regardless. To me, it looks dirty - JMO!
Ask the tux shop to show you different options. They have all different shades, so you don't have to pick from just white or ivory.

Re: Tux help
If his main and strongest color is gray then a white shirt should be fine. If a lot of the white shirt showed, I'd just be concerned that it would make my dress look 'dingy' next to his white shirt. JMO!

I'm not a big fan of the ivory shirt either, but from what I've heard, I thought a white shirt would make my dress look dingy?

I guess you're right - a lot of the shirt won't show for most of the pics - until later when he takes of his jacket. But that's what I'm worried about - my dress looking dingy next to his white shirt.

My dress was diamond white (considered off white I believe) and mens wearhouse only had white or ivory as an option. FH didn't want to wear ivory because he said it looked dirty so whatever, he wore white. I was a little concerned that my dress would look dingy but you can't tell at all in pics. It was more important to me that FH felt his best

Did you think it was noticeable that his shirt was white and your dress was diamond white/off white?

My dress is called ivory, but it's really more of an off white (not yellowish at all). Luckily our tux place has an ivory in the same shade.
In all honesty, you can't even tell it's ivory. Doesn't look dingy at all.
And now I don't have to worry about my dress looking 'off'

Would you mind sharing where you ordered your tuxes from? Do you think the ivory shirt they have would look ok with a charcoal tux?

Re: Tux help
I wore an ivory/eggshell vintage lace dress which was BEAUTIFUL! My girls also wore slate gray dresses and we did the same for our tuxedos. Shirts were light ivory and did not look dirty at all. They were beautiful! I can send you photos or show you on fb. Just let me know.
We used Feldmans in Lynbrook. By far the BEST! The nicest guy! If you decide to go tell them I sent you. FM me for more info!

Personally, I think if your dress is ivory (mine is ivory too) than the groom should have an ivory shirt. My ivory is also a very light ivory and really only noticeable if you put it next to something stark white. FH is going to wear an ivory shirt because I feel in pictures it will make my dress look off if he wears a white shirt. IDK, that's just me. Maybe you can bring a swatch of your dress into the tuxedo place and they can help match it?
