Tux Help w/pics & Poll

We're going for tuxes this weekend finally but we're going back and forth with what to go with. I know we'll get a better idea when we see the tuxes in person but I figured Id get some opinions first.

We know FH is def. going to wear a cream tie and vest.

We're debating on the guys tuxes. I think having them wear lilac ties and vest to match the girls dresses looks kinda prom-ish so I've been leaning towards just all black. Its classy and simple. FBIL wants the lilac.

Which looks best...lilac or black?

If you want the GMs to match the girls do the lavender tie with a black vest...I like the black on black better but then again purple is my least favorite color so I cant say much.

my girls are wearing a tiffany blue color and the same color for the guys looked promish so we opted for silver vests and silver and black paisly ties. I personally didnt like the black on balck, but I do like it better than the lilac.

Where are you going for tuxes. They might even have ties tht have just a hint of lilac in them tht you could do w/ the black vest. Like you said, you will get a better idea when you go there. Good Luck!

Maybe do lilac tie with black vest? That is what my guys are doing (only a pink tie). It keeps it from being to promish.

honestly Im a fan of the whole bridal party matching. It looks the nicest and the I think the lavender looks nice as well. My sister did similar colors and it looked beautiful. All black looks kind of DJish...IMO

My girls are wearing a deep lilac color

and i'm either doing black vest and matching tie or black vest and black tie.

I agree - the matching vest with the colors we have kinda looks promish -

I agree with you, not a fan of the matchy-matchy--the black is nice, but maybe a platinum/silver/charcoal would be nice too?

ETA: We are doing white on white for FH, Platinum for GM, and Black for Dads....BMs are in Indigo blue.

i think a black vest and lilac tie would work great. for my gm's, they had a black vest w/ a diaganol striped tie w/ shades of purple and gray, and i liked how it looked.
