Tux Long Distance?

Here is my dilemma ladies, FH has 3 brothers in our wedding party, all of whom live in Syracuse NY. All three have basically told FH that they cannot make trips down here to pick out the tux, or try it on. I have not found a tux store that has locations in Long Island and Syracuse. Do you think its possible to pick the tux here, and then call in the order to a tux place in Syracuse?? I am totally confused on how to coordinate this, any help is greatly appreciated

Some of our ushers called in their measurements.Maybe they can do that.

I think the best way for you to do that is to ask your tux place if they can do the whole calling in measurement thing.. You really want to stay away from getting tux's at dif places.. you don't want to run the chance of getting dif tuxes, you know?

We have our Tux people all over the country. We did Men's Wearhouse. You can get measured and hold Tux @ one location & return to any other location.

I have read here and on other boards that as a courtesy a local tux shop will take measurements to give to the actual rental location so you can order all of them from the same place.

OK, so I have the groomsmen get measured at their local tux stores, and then order the tuxes through the one store here in NY. My only concern is that they will probably not get to try them on before the day of- can adjustments be made that late (if necessary?)

Adrienne, when are they coming down? At least a few days before, no? Why dont they pick them up a few days early to be on the safe side?

My friend works in a tux shop and the pants have sides that expand or contract as needed and they can hem the pants 1,2,3. One of our groomsmen will probably get fitted the day before or day of depending what day he can get here. He is in the Merchant Marines no tux shops at sea

Also try after hours, they have shops all over the us...they can go there and get measured and all that stuff and have the store call in the measurements to the store on LI

I think that my FBILs are just trying to make me crazy, as they refuse to come down more than one day before the wedding, so they would all have to try on the tux the day before the wedding. I dont think its a big a deal as the ladies though, since the sizing is different. I just hope that they go to a real tux store to get measured, and dont just have their wives do it- those never come out right

I am happy to say that at exactly this time in 8 months I will be in the church getting married- and it will be too late to worry about these details!!

Is there a Men's Warehouse near them? You can go to the Lake Grove store, speak only to Amy! She knows all about this stuff. We had GMs pick up their tuxes in CT, MA and NY. Everything worked out great. They also got measured at the store near them.

I checked Mens Wearhouse, there are none in Syracuse, they only go as far as Rochester which is an hour away. Same with After Hours.

I guess I will have to go with a store down here, and hope that they can work with a store in Syracuse to get the measurements. The guys will just have to try the tuxes on the day before...as long as they have the measurements done at a tux rental place, I think it will be OK. And this way, I can at least make sure that the tuxes are matching a few days before, so I only have to worry about them fitting the guys!

Don't freat! It is soo much easier for the guys. They really only need to call intheir measurements. Ask them to go to a well known store that sells tuxes or very nice suites and get their measurements taken from a knowldeable person who knows what they are doing...then then can tell you the measurements and you can call them in to the place where you are getting them.
