Tux question?

Tux question?

Hi, ladies,

Well, we ordered tuxes last night. FH looked amazing!! The lady was really helpful in informing us of what color scheme to go with, etc. But now we're second-guessing ourselves because FMIL was thinking it wouldn't go.

My dress is a light ivory and the girls will all be in black. This is what we did:

All black tuxes:

FH in light ivory shirt, light ivory tie and black vest.
BM in white shirt, silver/black tie and black vest.
GM in white shirt, black tie and black vest.

Any opinions?
Thanks

The FH sounds great - what if you were to leave the GM and the BM the same, but differentiate with a bigger bout.

We have our GMs and BM in the same, except our BM will have a slightly different bout... we had three of our guys go to see the different options - we tried a similar combo as what you have and we found it to be too much going on between the three.

I don't know about the white shirts. I think I would have everyone in the light ivory shirt as you don't want FH's shirt to look 'dirty' next to the GM. I think otherwise it should look great.

Only thing to change is that GM and BM should be in IVORY shirts - not white.

Hi,

See, that's what I was wondering about-shouldn't all the guys have light ivory shirts as well as FH? I will talk to FH and then give tux place a call.

So for the best man-do you think with the light ivory shirt we should still go with the silver/black tie or put him in the same as the GM? We may not be doing boutonierres so was trying to make him stand out a little bit.

Thanks

I would give all the guys the same color shirt.

Re: Tux question?

we did different colored vests. Maybe do black for groom and dark charcoal gray for groomsman with matching ties? And I think we are doing different color for the best man's vest too. our vests are platinum (real ligt gray) for groom, medium gray for best man and charcoal for the ushers with ties to match color of vests. dresses are navy and using pink flowers so gray will go with that color scheme. I think it would work for you too unless you really want all black to go with dresses. but gray vests would brighten things a little and you still have the black tuxes.

I would definitely put everyone in the same color shirt.
Our sales lady told us that the ivory shirt would look dingy if it was next to a white shirt.
