I was at kohls and like the psycho I am I carry a swatch of the BM's dresses... well, I found a tie that matches perfectly! So, I bought a bunch of them to possibly use for the guys.
1. Does the groom usually do white or ivory and just the guys do the color?
2. What does the father of the bride wear?
Tell me if you honestly think this tie would look OK with a black tuxedo.
Although this picture of the dress is not my dress it is the color of it.
I was just at tux place today and this is the info I heard (but I think really it's all about what you want and there's no strict rules anymore)
they told me - the groom wears white (vest/tie) or white with black bow tie
GM wear color (or whatever) but GM should wear something different from the groom. ..
father of the bride (depends on formality of wedding) if walking down the aisle in formal can wear tux, in informal suit or tux is fine. .
in the end - I think as long as you like the look, it doesn't matter - i have seen some CRAZY outfits by groom and GM (all sorts of colors, styles etc)

Re: Tux Questions
I personally wouldnt give the groom the color tie just the GM.
The father can wear a reg tux or one that matches your GM if he wants.

Re: Tux Questions
Thanks! So, do people normally put their fathers in the same color vests/ties as the GM?

I love that tie! I agree though, I think that it should be for the GM, and your FH should be in either the white/ivory/basic black.

Yeah, that's what I figured....my FH will be in ivory or white or whatever. I bought enough ties for my 2 best men, a GM and one for my ring bearer. I'm going to see if my godmother could work with it and make it smaller for him.

My DH wore ivory vest and tie. Looked so good. BM wore vest and tie in mocha/silver color to match MOH. Ring boys wore blue vests & ties to match the theme colors. FIL wore gold (don't ask MIL was in blue gray, he wanted red so we called it a day and let him wear the gold) My dad wore a copper vest & tie to match my mom.
