So I just had a bit of sticker shock for the tux rental.....$222 and thats with the discount. Sounds like a lot right? I thought Tux rentals were like $150-175? It shouldn't even surprise me at this point but it just seems high. Ok, my vent is over.....At least thats another check off my list. Now if I could just get my fiance to finish picking his groomsmen....

You're getting married in 2011 and your FH still hasn't picked his groomsmen? Wow! I'm glad that I am not the only one whose fiance waits until the last minute to do everything. Drives me nuts. Especially when he tells me it will all come together. Yeah right, I'm just going to wave my magic wand.

That's crazy high!! Are you sure you want to go with them? Mens warehouse was on the more expensive side after reading what others paid and we didn't pay anywhere near that!

OH i cant realte my FH waits last minute to do everything he is driving me nuts! But anyway, i think that does sound like a lot. FH GM's are paying i think 150 from Tuxedo park.

we looked at men's wearhouse but were looking for a grey tux and the only one they had we didn't care for. Since everyone is out of town and all over the country we kind of had to go with a chain place. So we went with Jos. A Banks which has beautiful clothing but yeah, I'm afraid to hear what the guys are going to say about the cost of the rental. Yes he is so indecisive and hasn't even picked his best man yet!! Same philosophy, it will all work out but it has made things extremely difficult to plan not knowing are there 7 guys or 12! Well he has to do it soon its less than a month away now. Glad to know I'm not alone.

When I got the quotes, I decided to just have them buy suits. I found a great deal at Macy's. We will probably rent the vests and shirts from Men's Warehouse.

We had the same issue with the Tux rental- FH is a groomsman in 4 different weddings. We signed up for the Jos A. Bank emails and ended up buying one of their signature Tuxes- Regular price: $788- but with the 70% off all Tuxes sale they were having, the jacket and the pants came to $236. He is wearing it for our wedding and 2 other weddings he is in- he will just rent the matching tie and vest. (One wedding they picked a grey tux, so he just rented) but nonetheless, to own a tux that is yours that is tailored to you for the same price it is to rent, was a no brainer for us.
We had such a great experience with Jos A Bank that we are going to use them for our groomsmen. I am going to email them about the tux style and let them know when it goes on sale if they want to buy it.

I was able to get Macys at their suit sale for $160 per suit (Alfani, worth $500) and then when one was missing from the shipment (they sent a letter), I went back and they were buy 1 get 1 free so it came out to under $60 per suit. If you scope out these deals, they are there!
