I am torn on either doing a black vest white tie or white vest white tie for my FH. I feel like the white vest looks better with the jacket on but not as good with the jacket off..like maybe the white on white would be washed out.
What are you doing??

FH will most likely wear a black tux with a light silver vest and GM a black tux with a darker silver or black vest.
Eta - I used to work in a tux store when I was younger and some of the white vests are VERY white, my dress is diamond white and I dont want my dress to look off next to a white vest. JMO

I had a black tie event as well. I did a straight tie for the guys and my DH wore a white tie/white vest. Here's a picture so you can see it...
I love the way the white tie white vest looks with the black jacket on.. i dont know if I will like it when he takes the jacket off later.. do you think it would be weird if he changed into a black vest for the reception?

we're having the groomsmen all wear black vests and black bowties with ivory shirts and FH will wear an ivory vest and ivory bowtie with his ivory shirt. i think i remember hearing that the groom in ivory or white vest/cummerband/tie instead of black is the most formal way to do it so if your going for black tie i think this would work best.
