OK, this is a little vent. My wedding in 20 days and I have 2 yes 2!!!! Groomsman who have not gone to get measured for their tuxes. I was originally going to go with Jim's Tuxedo's but while shopping at the mall went into Zeller's and fell in love with a Chocolate tux they had. The total rental cost is 179.00. Apparently to these guys that is too much for a rental and have been giving FH a hard time. I really want to drop them from my BP but here is the thing I have a small party as it is 4 girls and 3 guys.
Sooooo my question is, Is 179.00 really too much for a rental? What's the ballpark figure on your rentals?
Also should I force FH to just drop them alll together.?
Keep in mind I offered to pay the $40.00 fee due at the measurements. I am so P#ssed and I have been so flexible and nice during all this planning!!! WHAT DO I DO??!!!!

Re: Tuxedo Prices
i would be annoyed. GM and well as BM are aware that when they say yes to be in a wedding party, it will include some expenses. A dress, or a tux. I dont think $179 is unreasonable, our GM tuxes were in the same ballpark. Would your FH drop them from the BP?

I think that is a little much to ask them to pay. Also I had a few GM go the week before the wedding to get measured and one GM missed the pick up time and had to make a special appt.

I really don't think that's too much to ask the GM to pay. Our tuxes came to $170 total, and I think that's totally reasonable. The girls have to pay a lot more than that! Men should be thankful they have it so easy.

Re: Tuxedo Prices
I mean if you seriously think about it our BM's have to buy sooooo much for our weddings. They have to pay to have thier hair done if they want it perfect. Plus they have to pay for makeup if we want that also, they chip in for our shower, DOJ if we don't buy it for them.... so the guys what do they pay?? A bach party and a rental that includes the shoes!! Trust me it is not a lot when you think of the Bm's!!

Re: Tuxedo Prices
My FH is paying $212 for one of his tux rentals and around 160 for another wedding. SO i think it really ranges and depends on the place you go. A 100 per suite is a reall good price where are you getting yours from?

Re: Tuxedo Prices
I think the original rental price was $159 at Men's Wearhouse. FH decided to pay half of that for each guy since three of his GM are just out of college (whether with a bachelors or a masters) and are poor. I think they'll have to pay $75 or something now.

You know if these guys were poor I would foot the whole bill..It's not that serious for me. I care more that they are in the wedding for Fh's sake. They are very well off and have ZERO responsibilties!!
(Update) FH just called me from work and he sounded very upset appparently he told 1 of them that if he did not go to get fitted by tomorrow that he could just come as a guest instead. The only issue here was that it was not important enough for them to pay that money for (just) a wedding. (FH says that it what he said)

Re: Tuxedo Prices
that price seems fair. We're paying $250 for FH's and $190 for all the others but we knew where we were going was going to be a bit more expensive. FH is picky when it comes to clothes and he was very opposed to having to wear a tux.

Re: Tuxedo Prices
We found it for $95 without a shirt and shoes. But with free alterations incase something doesn’t fit right.
