tuxedo rental help

I tried searching for this and was not able to come up with much...so I am going to ask again. Sorry if it has been asked 100 of times.

FI and I are now in the process of looking for tuxedos. Can someone recommend anyone from Long Island. Preferably near the Suffolk/Nassau Border or Nassau?

Also, someone explain to me if this is like wedding dress shopping? Not sure how this normally works, so if someone can fill me in that would be great.

TIA

we are using tuxedo park in carle place. Highly recommend them. they have jackets in all men's sizes and pants and shirts and the guys try on eveything to see what looks best on their frame. The stuff is nice, new and well cared for. good luck

Try Mens Warehouse.

shopping for a gown = takes forever.
tux shopping = takes a day.

(look online first to see what kind of tux u like....long/short/4 buttons/3 buttons...etc)

I too would recommend Tuxedo Park. We picked out the tuxes at the Carle Place location and the guys picked them up from the Huntington location. We were in and out in about an hour and they were super helpful and most importantly, there weren't any problems with the tuxes. I always recommend going to a place a)that's local to where the men are getting dressed 'just in case' something is missing/forgotten, etc and B) someplace that does alterations on site bc you never know when a pesky hem will fall.

we used men's wearhouse(there are several locations) we visited the plainview location when we went, but can pick up the tuxes ANYWHERE. it is completely different from BM dresses........basically, your FH picks a 'suit' he likes out of the various styles and then the color of the vest/ties, we even had a choice of shirt styles, cufflink colors, shoe styles.....much easier...we were there for maybe 20 minutes! it helped knowing what colors for the ties/vests and tie type (long or bow tie) ahead of time...but compared to BM dress shopping, I'd take tuxedos anyday!

Thanks for the help...it has been very insightful. Seems guys have it easy once again.

Did you ladies shop around for tux places...or did you just go to one?

We planned on shopping around, but once we went to Tuxedo Park in Carle Place, we knew this was the place.

We talked with different tux places at all the showcases we went to. When we found one we liked (Tuxedo Park) we went there.

HOWEVER, Tuxedo Park closed their Huntington location (where we had reserved ALL the tuxes) without notice to us. We found out when one of the GM went to get measured for his tux and the store was shut down. FH was extremely ticked off about this, and refuses to go to Carle Place. We have selected a different tuxedo shop to use as a result.

We used Tuxedo Park and had a great experience. They were really accomodating as well - my brother missed his flight up to NY the day before the wedding and they were able to fit him in the morning of our wedding to get his tux fitted, altered, and ready to go
