I checked out RSVP in bayshore and wasn't very happy with them. We're using Rogers Tuxedo's on Main Street in babylon village. They guy there was really great to work with.

Re: Tuxedo Vendor Help AGAIN!

We went to a few places last night and two of the vendors didn't have anything for my fiance to try on. They didn't have any vests for me to look at with my sample BM dress swatch. One even told us that he could order a jacket and schedul a try on appt but told me and my fiance that the try on appts weren't a priority and could get canceled at any time. So who is a priority????

Re: Tuxedo Vendor Help AGAIN!

I was almost in tears by the end of the night. I didn't think that this was going to be such a hassle. My fiance and I found a tuxedo place that had a vest that matched my dresses to the 'T' but the tuxedo's (in my FH eyes) were a little expensive compared to what we've seen. His biggest thing is that the groomsmen are going to pitch a B i t c h over the price. I need to keep looking because I'm not going to settle on a vest/tuxedo that doesn't go with my dresses because they may or may not like the price.

I don't know where you live or what stores you went to already, but if you're willing to take a trip to Bayside, there are 2 tuxedo shops on Bell Blvd.

One is Bell Formal Tuxedo (Bell & 39th Ave, next to Karate place)
3834 Bell Blvd
Bayside, NY 11361-2059
(718) 225-1331

The other is VIP Tuxedo (I could be wrong about the name) on the corner of Bell Blvd and Northern Blvd.

Also, FH has used Dante Zeller Tuxedos in the past...they have locations everywhere.

Was going to post the same thing -- they let FH try on a bunch of stuff, took so much time with us, had lots of options and gave us a great price. My family has used them for years.

Edit: they also do alterations on-site, and had a tux that matched our BM dresses perfectly. i have some tux pix in my albums

Re: Tuxedo Vendor Help AGAIN!

We used Tuxedo Park, and while they were great with helping make the selection of what to wear, they ROYALLY screwed up the tuxedos for the day-of.

There were visible burns in the shirts, someone had 2 different sized shoes, they gave 1/2 the guys the wrong style shirt collar, tried to do a make-shift job on the alterations for my grandfather's tuxedo, and were rude to my father on top of everything else. Thank goodness DH had called all the GMs to go over what their tuxes should look like!

We went to talk to them about things the day after the wedding, and they were rude AGAIN and didn't even seem surprised by all the things that were wrong with the tuxedo pick ups!

They were the only vendor I wouldn't use again if I was planning my wedding again.

Re: Tuxedo Vendor Help AGAIN!

I used RSVP tux and had no issues - only problem they havent given back my $100 depo but i have to call them up and ask about that.

$95 tux rental with shoes basic one button and they had plenty to try on.

We still had to buy the ties for the groomsmen since it was a 'unique' shade of green. No one had it in stock anyway

We are using Mr. Tuxedo. They are on Main St. in Patchogue, but moving to Riverhead this week. FH and his BM went there and really liked the selection and service and decided that the drive to Riverhead for day of was worth it, even though we live in Patchogue.

Re: Tuxedo Vendor Help AGAIN! ... Update

So FH and I decided to us Bonaventure in Garden City... Andrew is one of the owners and he was so wonderful. I had spoken to his father earlier and he let me know that on the day I wanted to come in they close early so I made an appt for another day, well Andrew called me within five minutes and told me to come in the day that I had originally wanted and he'd be there to help. We went and saw him, tried a few things on and they even had a vest that matched my bridesmaid dresses (thank god). We got a great deal, Since we had seven people renting he is giving us two free. So we chose to have my FH free and we divided the $$ from one tux between the other six.
Unfortunately now I have to cancel with the vendor we originally chose. These Rentals came out to be $75-$80 less then what the other place was going to charge us.

Ladies thatnks for all your help whenever I need it, you the best!!!
