Victor Talbots on Glen Cove Rd., in Greenvale has wonderful service and is such a classy place. Also Tuxedo Park in Carle Place has a good reputation (2 friends of ours used them in the past year to outfit their groomsmen).

Yes, ONLY USE VICTOR TALBOTS IF YOU WANT TO TOTALLY STRESS, MAKE ABOUT 6 TRIPS TO THE STORE ETC.

We used Victor Talbots for our wedding. The store is very nice and the people who work there are generally VERY NICE and helpful - but they are not well trained.

We should have known there would be problems when:
1) they could NEVER get my fathers name right kept calling him by my FIL's name NO MATTER HOW MANY times they were corrected (This included the owner).
2) measured a couple of the GM and my father WRONG -they were told those are NOT my measurements but they insisted that they were right anyway.
3) asking when Tim or Allen or John were coming in - DH told them I DON'T have anyone in my party by that name.

Fast Forward to Thursday before the wedding.
Wedding party and Fathers all go (different times though) Our wedding was Black tie and my father and GM's, BM and DH all wore Tails with White tie. BP and fathers were there for 2 hours on thursday night to straighten it all out and almost all had to return BOTH Fri and SAT MORNING DAY OF THE WEDDING to staighten it out.

1) NOT ONE of the 3 GM, BM, DH, OR 2 Fathers tuxes were right.
2) Most were either WAY to small or WAY to big
3) Gave my father a GRAY jacket and INSISTED this was correct for a night wedding with Tails -
4) Gave ALL BLACK buttons and Cuff links for WHITE tie rather than mother of pearl and Insisted that this was the proper way to wear it. When questioned admitted that it WASN'T but they screwed up and wasn't sure they could get the proper buttons for everyone in time.
5) They gave everyone the wrong tuxes (dad to Dh, BM, to GM etc - so everyone had to play who has my tux)
6) there were holes in 2 of the GM tuxes (NOTICIBLE ones)
7)ALL men had to IRON the shirts the day of the wedding because they were given to them all wrinkled.

DH got a free tux because we had a certain amount of tuxes rented. BUT DH had to pay $50 deposit which he was informed that he would get back when the tuxes were returned. When my father returned his and DH's they refused to refund DH's card because he wasn't there (we live in MI and were ON the first part of our honeymoon).

I could continue BUT those are ONLY SOME of the highlights. DH told some people at the wedding about them and he was informed that this is NOT an unusual occurance with them.

Save yourself the $160-180 rental and the headaches and go elsewhere.

Oh and they have been rather pushy about asking us to refer them to others - we get letters and were asked when renting and returning the tuxes to please refer them to our friends and family.

He was sooo nice. One of groomsmen is currently in the hospital and has nnot been measured. Mike told us not to worry about it and if he has to, he will fit him right before.

FH has used them before and we plan on using them for our wedding..they have a nice selection, when we went in to talk to the guy about when he should come back, he was very helpful and nice.
