My real dad is coming to the wedding but not walking me down the aisle - should he wear a tux? My stepdad is coming and will be doing a reading - I think he should wear a tux. Right? A very dear friend of the family will be walking me down the aisle (hopefully - still trying to convince the dad to let this happen) - he shold wear a tux, right? What's the proper etiquette?

Re: Tuxes for dads who are not walking bride?
Traditionally, only the fathers of the bride/groom where a tux.
However, if you're friend is walking you down, he should be in a tux.
Your step father can opt out since he's doing a reading. This is your call. My brother's are doing the readings and I've asked they wear a suit and a tie and I will provide them with a corsage/boutenneire (sp)

We're having my dad (who is walking me down the aisle), FH's dad, and FH's grandfather (only living grandfather between the two of us) wear tuxes. FH's stepfather is just wearing a black suit (his choice), but he will have the matching boutonniere.
