I had one groomsmen living in las vegas, and at Di're Formal Wear(vendor on this site) what they do is give you an enevelop with a list of measurements that the groomsmen can take to any cleaners to get measured on their own. Then the groomsmen can mail it back to them with a check/credit card info/or even money order.

We are having the same issue. Only my one brother lives on LI, the rest of the GM are all over...we have 1 in PA, 1 in FL, 1 in KY and the rest are here in OH. My brother who lives on Long Island is helping us out big time. He used to work at a tuxesdo store and told FH that once he picks out the tux (hopefully next weekend when we are up finalizing a ton of wedding plans) he will tell the other guys to go to any tuxedo shop or cleaners to get measured. He said that any shop should do it because it is custom of tux shops to help people out. Then once all the measurements are gathered my brother will take care of ordering them and picking them up for the guys before we all arrive. So I guess once you pick it out and the store tells you what measurements they need your GM can just go to any place to get measured.

This is what we did....
We had DH pick out a tux that he wanted and then told his GM to go and get measured where they lived. Once they were given their measurements, they had to call our Tux guy to give them to him so he could order the tux.
They just had to try on the tuxes before they took them. Out of the 9 people getting tuxes only 2 of them lived on LI and were able to use our guy and luckily everything came out fine.

YEP!!! Exactly what we did. We had no GM living on LI, so they all got measured where they lived and called the measurements in!!

We used Men's Wearhouse and were really happy with them!
We had 1 GM in NYC, 2 in Rockland County, 1 in Orange County and 1 in CT. Then we had our dads.
DH had been in a wedding where they had used Men's Wearhouse and he was happy with his experience and he loves the store overall so we went there. We had no problems, everyone got the right tuxes/shoes/etc. They have coupons for $20 off a rental so we went with a Kenneth Cole Tux and it cost everyone $99 for rental and DH got his for free because we had over 4 other rentals.

Korin, We're using Men's Wearhouse too, did I not tell you that?? Liz used them for her wedding and was very happy with them. I'm going there on Monday!! I'll keep you posted!

You can also use a store near where your wedding will be. The guys can just call in their measurements and pick it up the day of the RD or wedding. All of our GMs are from OOT and we are using Bonaventure in Garden City. They do alterations on site, so if something needs to be changed the day they pick it up, it's not a problem.

we have a bunch of OOT Groomsmen - we are ordering them here on Long Island and if they come to NY they can get measured or they can get measured at home and call it in...

we didn't have any OOT groomsmen, but what u can do is have them get fitted at a dry cleaner and call in their measurements. or, at least, if they know their measurements [which i doubt lol] then they can still call it in ;o)

Us too. Then they all picked up the tuxes together the day before the wedding.. we returned them so they wouldn't have to worry about it.

Here's my breakdown: FH & I live in FL 1 GM in FL 1 GM in Maine 2 in NY 1 in MD I found tuxes I liked online on www.jimsformalwear.com, found a local retailer in NY. I had all the guys measured somewhere near them. Worked out great! All of them are done

We have groomsman in about 5 states so that's what we're doing.You can order them all over and then pick them all up at one store. Convenient!!!
