Twins..........

Fraternal twins run in both mine and DH's family.
Anything I can do to increase our chances? (besides fert. drugs)

I don't think you can increase the chances of twins naturally. It sorta just happens or doesn't happen.

I agree with Michelle. The only increased chances of twins that I know of (besides genetic predisposition and fertility drugs) is for women who have their first children after the age of 35. Turns out that our bodies want to produce babies so much that if we haven't had children by 35, those women's bodies sometimes release more than one egg, which increases the changes of twins.

Fraternal twins does tend to run in familys -- but only on the woman's side (2 eggs must release). Your husbands family history has no bearing . Other factors include age, race (African American women have a higher number of twins) and conceiving shortly (one month) after stopping BCP. This from one of my multitude of books on multiples! (of which I'll be very willing to pass along should you be so blessed). Identical twins are strictly a miracle!

My grandmother had 2 or was it 3 sets of twins (12 children). My mother didnt have any. 2 of my aunts had twins (one of my aunts was a twin herself).

I just hope then that it carries down to me. Maybe I should stay on the BC until a month before TTC then

Our wish is to have twins. always has been since we met & spoke of children. They run in my family too and I am 34

WOW - there are quite of few of us who wouldn't mind being blessed with twins.

I have always said that I would love to have twins. And everyone always says that I am crazy - because it it so much work!

Identical twins run in my family. I would of loved having twins right now, DH I'm not too sure about... but there's only little baby inside right now. Maybe the next time around!

twins and triplets are cute, but not at 2am when they are both crying and need to be feed and changed- then I have a feeling it is not as cute as when you see them dressed up in the store.
I was with MIL at a picinic in MA and someone in the park was pushing a snap&go type stroller with 3 infant car seats in it.She said 'look how cute michele' and I said 'I see expensive' 3 cribs, 3 highchairs, 3 of everything.

Yes, Liz, I am blessed (at least most days ) with beautiful twin 8 month old boys -- Connor and Ryan. Since they are my first children, I really couldn't tell you how much more work they are than a single baby - I have nothing to compare it too! Ignorance is bliss!

I'm sure they are a lot of work and money, but I still feel this would be my dream. I only want 2 children, so to only be pregnant once would be nice. But besides that they run in my family and I've seen the bond that my twin Godmothers (cousins) share. It's incredible. I would love my sons or daughters to be able to share such a wonderful incredible bond.

If I don't have twins, I will raise them to be as close as me and my siblings anyway. Whichever way it works, I'll be a lucky and blessed lady
