Two Engagedment Parties??

My parents and my FIL wanted both want to throw an egagemant party for us. Our parents live about 4 hrs apart so I guess they think it will easier to have two seperate parties...who knows!

Did this happen to anyone else? I'm just trying to figure out which party to invite my friends too or both! My house is technically more inconvient for most of my friends....almost everyone lives in Boston or NYC so it's tough going somewhere that is not accessable by public transportion!

not w/ the e-party, buy that happened w/ my friend's shower. they had one on LI bc that's where most of the guests were, but the groom's mother/father were too sick to travel, so they had one in albany too, where the couple and the groom's parents all live.

I had two engagement parties. One for friends and one for family. I didnt want it to seem like a wedding with friends and fam.

We are having two in a row, one on Saturday and one on Sunday because my parents live far and we are doing it in FH's house. Unfortunately we don't have the room for both sides in his house. So this way at least both families will mingle with the immediate family. We are not inviting friends either.
