Two new ideas

Two new ideas

We went to meet the hall last night and started chatting, and I was telling the co-ordinator all my plans, and she gave me two more, which I am passing on

The first was a program which was also a fan. I won't use this for my program, but might make it anyway.
A piece of card was cut into a fan shape (a point at one end, and round on the outside), and attached to a sitick (it looked like a tongue depressor, but I'm sure Michaels has something non medical to fit the bill). there was also a ribbon around where the card met the stick

The second - which I am definately doing, I just haven't figured it all out yet. She suggested creating a photo album of our family and friends weddings. She actually said to use just our parents, but I am thinking of getting all the married couples to give us a pic - we have most of the recent ones already from thank you's.

Wow this is long

Re: Two new ideas

This is so funny! I'm in the midst of a photo proj for the wedding simmiliar to this except this is what I'm doing (I hope I explain it ok)

Since I've become addicted to scrapbooking lately, I've adapted an idea using a cropping technique. I've gone through the tons & tons of pic's we have taken over the years & realized that we have pic's of just about EVERYBODY that will be at our wedding. so, I've cropped & backed them all onto pretty paper and then I'll mount them gallery style.

My dad is making me 4 hinged frames made of wood that will stand about 5 feet tall. (Picture a pretty room divider or screen - sort of like louver doors). We bought framing mats in burgandy - oversized - and will use that to put inside the frames. The pictures will be adhered w/scrapbook tape to the mats.

The whole thing will be decorated and put at cocktail hour, then later at the after party for guests to see. I think that It'll go over very well!

I'm hoping I explained this ok! I'll post pic's when we get them

I was thinkin of using a fan shaped program. I do not remember what website I found it on.

If you have any tips on how to make this, please let me know.

Thanks.

Christmasbride
your idea sounds beautiful, we will have to ask for pictures from people, which will be the hard part....

Re: Two new ideas

At my wedding my friend and BM get pictures from all of the bridal party and from our parents and made a huge collage that was displayed at the reception -- it was cool b/c I didn't know anything about it and when I was getting ready to be introduced I saw it displayed. It was such a nice surprise -- pics of DH and i growing up and pics of us with bridal party (mostly me with BMs) and parents, etc.

On the fan idea -- I saw a pretty one in a recent issue of Southern Living Weddings. Someone had them for their outdoor wedding in the summer. It had their picture (or some picture) and the names and wedding date. Really cute.

Re: Two new ideas

dubliner,

I hope this helps ... you take your picture & crop it into pretty shapes, focusing mainly on the important element in the pic. Then you find a complementary colored paper ... craft stores carry a ton of great paper & cut it to match. Adhere the pic to the paper & mount on a scrapbook page.

It's a little different that making photo albums b/c you're supposed to journal & tell stories with your pix.

Creative Memories is a comp. dedicated to scrapbooking. It's very addictive, if you like this sort of thing, which it sounds like you would! Any other q's .. fm me!!! I hope I didn't confuse you more!

Re: Two new ideas

technically, you're right. But b/f I had a scrapbooking party, I was using what I found in Michael's. which turned out pretty good. Now that I have the right tools, it's even better.

I'm just saying that you can do a good job w/o spending all the money to have the 'equiptment'.
