Two questions

1. When do you send out STD?
2. What should I do next now that I booked the church and the reception hall?

STD's depend, if your having a holiday weekend wedding or have alot of OOT guest, I'd say a 10 to 12 months in advance.

After I booked the church and hall, I worked on flowers and photography.

I also started searching for my dress, accessories, got some great things of ebay, picture frames for my placecards, my tiara, my cake topper, picture frames for our parents that match our cake topper.

Best thing, make a list.

If you like the work of more popular vendors, like Duet, LaBlossom, Oksana start calling now, they book quickly

Edit to add, I see your having it memorial day weekend next year.. so I would think to send the STD's sooner rather than later

Mel, STDs are usually sent out 6 months before...but since your date is Memorial Day weekend I'd add maybe a couple months so people don't make other plans...so maybe about 8 months before.

Next I'd say photo...this requires a lot of research and is the second costliest vendor after your hall. You're gonna want to do your research. They generally book up quickly too.

I would send out your STDs 8-10 months before. I plan on sending mine out within that time frame and I'm getting married during a holiday weekend too.

As for what you should do next... photography and music.

Definately send the STD's out ASAP...Considering you are past the 1 year mark & you are a holiday weekend, you want to let people make plans for your wedding..

I would move onto photography first...Majority of the 'best' photographers book quickly & you are in the prime months...Then music & then flowers....Majority of the florists will accommodate more then 1 wedding, so that is not a necessity at this time

STD's 10-12 months before your wedding, with any hotel info for OOT guests.
I would book your photographer then DJ.

And I used Save the date mint tins as party favors for our E-party -My girlfriend sent them in her E-party invites -

I actually haven't sent mine out yet, but am hoping to do that around the 8 month mark (so in July). Need to get the mothers to finalize their lists!

What to do next:
I'd say look at DJ's....

Lets see... STD's - I am hoping to send them out next week. (we are date twins too!) I have them, I am just waiting to put hotel info in.

I booked the DJ after the hall. Then photographer, then video, then florist. If you don't already have your dress, you should start looking pretty soon.

I am going to send out my STD's about 8 months before the wedding. Mine is not on a holiday weekend, so I think a year would be too early for me.

After we booked the hall and the church we got the photographer. We are in the process of contacting and researching limos and videographers now.

i am a holiday weekend and I will most likely send them at our year makr or a bit after-sometime in the summer

I booked hall, church, Band, and photographer first- those go the fastest imo
