Two weddings, same day??

Two weddings, same day??

My FH and I got invited to two wqeddings on the same day. One is for a fmaliy firend on his side, and the other is a freind of mine, since High School. The churches are at the same time, and one reception starts an hour before the other.

We don't know what to do.

We were thinking about doing the church and cocktail hour at one, and then the reception at the other, but we weren't sure. I don't want to miss my friends and he doesn't want to miss the fmaily firends wedding.

Is it bad if we each go alone. We will be back from our HM a week prior to the wedding, so I am not sure if we want to do this either.

Is it an option to split up for each ceremony and then do cocktail hour for one, reception for the other?

I had a girl friend who had same problem. They decided to slit up for the day..she went to her friends wedding and he went to his.

I had this happen recently and both were so important to us that we went alone to each...
It stinks, but I didn't want to leave my cousin's early and he didn't want to leave his cousin's early either....

But if that doesn't work for you, I think you suggested a good compromise...By going to one ceremony and cocktail hour and the other's reception....

I had the same situation! My BM's wedding was during the day and DH's fraternity bros was that evening - we went to both. Ended up missing the ceremony of the second wedding but luckily the timing worked out otherwise. We really couldn't miss either so we went to both

I wouldn't split the day - - neither of you will enjoy either wedding that way. I would go to your side and him to his (you'll also save on the gifts since it's only 1 going on each side vs. covering 2 people for both parties.)

Although it stinks to go alone, I think we would split up and go seperately.

Re: Two weddings, same day??

One of our groomsmen bailed out of our wedding, in favor of his wife's friend who was also getting married. His wife was a bridesmaid in that wedding. Instead of splitting up for the day, our groomsman dropped out of the wedding and neither one of them came.

I know this is more extreme because they were bridal party members, but as the couple who got the 'shaft' so to speak...I have to tell you it kind of hurt. If you are really close with both parties...I would split up for the day. Lke I said, my situation was more extreme because they were bridal party members, and I would see if you aren't that close with one or the other, missing one wedding.

Also, if you are just going to go the ceremony and cocktail hour of one....do you respond that you are coming? They have to pay for your plates if so...this whole thing could get sticky!

I would go with one or the other, or split up and each of you go to your respective parties.
