TWOTY

Can someone please explain?! I know there was a post the other day on this but I can't find it. Is it a real wedding? Mock wedding? Is it a real bride?!? haha I prob sound so dumb! I saw Client Services just posted pics of TWOTY on the BHB board from Blue Daisy...it looks like a real bride!

It is a mock wedding put on by LIWeddings.com to showcase a bunch of their vendors. Brides from the previous year are chosen to be the bride/groom and the bridal party (so the '09 brides will be this years bridal part and bride/groom)...the ceremony I'm guessing serves as a vow renewal and then the reception is just a big party...free food, free booze, lots of fun and lots of giveaways!

Thanks also, I was curious as to who the bride/groom were..

How do they select who are the mock bride/groom anyways? Where were the vendors in the video? I sort of expected it to be like a bridal show with 1 area of the RH to be the 'finished wedding product' and another area to have a bunch of booths and vendors!!!

This year each couple that wants a chance at being in the bridal party has to submit a video showing that they are fun and outgoing and I guess they'll choose from there.

Its not like a bridal show, its like a wedding. Florists do a couple of tables of centerpieces each, bands and DJs play, bridal salons provide the dresses, etc etc.

How much do tickets usually cost? Also, do the bride and groom get to have an family/friends there or is it all strangers?

it is a blast and there are raffles (last year I won my DOJ a $1400 diamond necklace!) If I remember correctly you can only buy 2 tix one for you and one for fh (and they do check IDs) but all the grooms are entered for a chance to win a flat screen tv so that was the selling point for my fh

and no the mock bride and groom dont have family there just fellow LIWers
