What is some unique element you are planning on adding to your wedding day? Are you doing something special during the ceremony or maybe an added touch to the reception?

Not sure if it's 'unique' but we aren't doing a traditional wedding cake - we are going to have cupcakes.
We are also going to try and have a special surprise for people as the leave the hall - not telling right now, since some of my BM's are lurkers LOL
I also showed FH the ribbon wands for after the church and he really liked the idea - so it looks like we may go that route.

FH is really into sword fighting and has even taught me how... So we're cutting our cake with a sword.

a few things:
1. we're having a percussionist at the reception 2. lounge furniture during CH 3. this is a surprise so don't tell anyone ... but our first dance will be the Waltz

I am going to look into having the leftover food donated to a soup kitchen, if appropriate And my favors will be dontations, but a lot of people do the donation favor thing.

I was going to wear blue shoes too! My BM's will be waring a cornflower blue, so I was gonna have my shoes dyed to match. FH isn't real happy about this.
Also, we're having a photo montage of our grandparents and us as children at some point in the reception since all of them have passed.

that's really cool!!!!
I think we might do a gourmet burger bar at the CH but we have to work with the chef to figure out exactly how we'd do it and what to put on it. I like the idea of doing comfort food in an elegant way for a lil something different.

Basically he's going to reach out to his former classmates who are sailing right now and ask them to send back a bottle of water. There are so many people out that there's bound be at least one in each of the seas between now and the wedding. So soon we'll have Poland Springs bottles full of ocean water sitting in our dining room
