Uck!

Uck!

So I found out last night that FH's brother (who is also a groomsman) will def be in afganistan for the wedding.

This ***** for a number of reason.

1. We want him there (main and most important reason obv)

2. I'm not sure if his wife will still come because they live in NC and she has two very small children she'd be travelling alone with.

3. His son is one of our ring bearers so we may be short if the whole family doesn't come.

4. my bridal party is now uneven.

5. It just *****.

Any ideas of how to incorporate him in the wedding without making it look like a memorial?

Hopefully things will change and he can be there...

if not, see if there's a way to have him send a message via satellite directly to your reception. I'm not sure how to set it up, but it could be a great way to incorporate him with out the memorial feeling.

he's career army..

its definite.

He's being shipped out in October and he'll be there 6-8months.

ANDDD to top it off, he's special ops - we never know where he is and there is VERY minimal contact - there is no way he'd be able to satellite broadcast. We never even really know where he is.

I'm sorry, I am sure FH is really upset about it.

I thought there would be a chance...I'm assuming since he's special ops, he won't be able to get the time to come back home?

I'm sorry. Keep your head up

thanks danielle

yeah he'll be there 6 to 8 months def. no breaks.

last time he was in columbia doing training for a year and we weren't even sure what country he was in for a YEAR. it was insane.

at least this time we will know where he is.

Re: Uck!

Kind of stealing Danielle's idea..maybe he can pre-record something b/c the satellite thing might be hard

Also, maybe throw a couple pics of him up and write a message in your program if you are having one. Something about how you wish he was there but he is defending the country (you could even make it funny) like 'He thought that was more important than our wedding'

lol that's a cute idea with the program but I'm just scared if I have his picture before anyone even reads it they will automatically think it's a memorial .. you know like 'in memory of...' because that's what you generally see at weddings.

I'm thinking maybe having the DJ say something.. but at what point would they say something? and what would they say?

ITA with this - I think this is a great idea. I'm so sorry that he will not be able to be at your wedding.
