Hes getting on my case cause my part of the guest list(rough draft) is longer than his. I cant help that I know more people than he does. I have 30 people alone from work(thats including spouses) Hes so annoying about it. He thinks I'm inviting people just to invite them. It does **** that I know quiet a bit of people, but why should I feel bad about it? I'm paying for the damn thing too. Grant it there are people I was considering that I'm reconsidering now. I do understand where hes coming from. But, why should I feel bad cause I know more people than him. Has anyone else had this issue before? I Hate even bringing up the guest list with him, cause I dont wanna hear it. UGHHHHHHHHHH

yup. my guest list is def longer than my FH ... and he thinks im inviting the whole nation....i posted about this last week... the advice i got was: having two lists... A and B.. invite the most important people and then work your way from there...

I know. I so understand that. But, at the same time I feel like I DEF have to invite the people that have invited me to their wedding. I feel like that would be sooooo rude if I didnt. However, there are some couples that have invited me that I dont see as often as I did in the past. I still talk to them, just not as much. What do I do about that?? And yes he totally is like ' you've got 150 on the list, why not invite 20 more' but of course in that very annoying, sarcastic tone

Are you way above your minimum? Maybe if he sees that you guys may need all those guests to make up your minimum, he'll be more understanding. I have the same issue but the other way around, as the FH has WAYYYY more guests than I do, and we're paying for the wedding half/half. The way I look at it, we may need all his guests to make the minimum for our hall.

We went through something similar. FH has a small family and my side of the list was almost double the size of his. He got very upset and took it out on me, but we sat down to discuss what it was about it that was bothering him so much. When I told him that by the time the wedding rolled around my family would feel like his and it wouldn't feel like 'his side' and 'my side' he seemed to get over it. Now that he and my family have bonded, he knows I was right.

Well as far as families go, we both have a good size each. Its the friends. I'm a social butterfly and hes a quiet guy with no friends(not to be rude) I also am not inviting someone just because we had a drink once or twice either, Our minimum is 175. we are keeping it no more than 200. Our list right now is about 215. He thinks we're gonna get 215. i tried to tell him that 20% is not gonna show. He doesnt grasp the concept of any of it. Now I know why the girls do everything and the guys stay out of it. They have no clue on how anything works

Hmmm I have the opposite problem; FH keeps inviting people and I keep asking him to please STOP! He wants everyone to be there, which is sweet, but we already have 250 (and really cannot remove any of those; I have a big family and he alot of friends), so I keep telling him to stop telling people to 'mark their calendars' or we'll have to have people seated at the bar!! Grrrr

I most likely have more people on my list than FH. My problem with his list is that he STILL hasn't given it to me yet!!! His sister gave me a list from her recent wedding but unfortunately she put 'Mr. and Mrs. B. Jones and family' and FH doesn't know their first names and who 'and family' includes or their names (don't ask). So his mom took the list back (over a month ago) to give us first and last names of everyone. Still haven't gotten it back yet. So as of now we're getting married in 9 months and I have no idea how many people we're inviting. Talk about frustrating!!!
