UGH!!!

UGH!!!

I am in my friends wedding and we got our bridesmaid dresses at Davids Bridal... they just came in and when i tried it on with my shoes the length was perfect! Problem is that usually a swatch is cut from the bottom of the dress to bring to get your shoes dyed. The dress only needs slight alterations so I don't think we can get any swatch off of the dress... My other friends are similar height and size so I have a feeling they are in the same boat.

I just called to see if they would send a swatch and they said we would have to buy something to get a swatch (like a shawl, and then cut it so we can get a swatch!), they don't give them away!! How ridiculous!! Just another way for them to make money Now I wouldn't even think of going back there to look for shoes or a pocketbook! I hope the maid of honor has some extra fabric on her dress or we're in trouble!!

Or maybe email the company where the dress came from and ask them for it.

I had the same issue with my BM dresses. They told me they just do not do swatches anymore. I thought it was ridiculous. So we're not getting 'dyed' shoes to match because I don't want to play that game. (I have green dresses and there's no guarantee the shoes will match and I dont want a nasty green shoe with my beautiful green dresses)

I almost had a similar problem, but one of my girls needed a size zero and the smallest the dress came was 2, so we are using her dress. Maybe you guys could do the same thing? Or is there another color shoes you could wear?

It's Davids Bridal, they make the dresses

The maid of honor is short so I'm thinking her dress will be long enough to get a swatch, but she is in CT and if she waits too long to get her dress fitted we may not have enough time to get the shoes dyed. Hopefully there will be enough 'extra' fabric on the inseam of one of the dresses that they can cut that out...

I have only gotten shoes dyed once, and they took the actual swatch of the dress. If I brought in the wrap (same color as the dress), would they have to hold onto it to match the color? I guess that could be the worst case scenario...

Re: UGH!!!

Usually there is a little extra material on the inside of the dress at the bottom of the zipper...check that out...that was enough for them to match my prom dress back in the day...

That is ridiculous!!!!

Usually dresses come with swatches, you should see if you can get the swatch someother way.
