So I am up in sunny? Ithaca for FH's MBA graduation. Yay!

I came up with his parents yesterday where his mother basically demanded that I do the money dance for two hours in the car

My exact words were...' no money dance, no chicken dance, no line dance....none of that stuff!'

Ugh it is not part of my culture at all and I think it's prety trashy. If people want to give us a little extra cash, they will put it in an envelope or stick it in FH's suit pocket

I agree with you 100% ... I think it's wrong to ask for money, even in a dance, on top of people coming to share our day with us!

People tried doing that at my engagement party ... Two people wanted to bartend and put out a tip cup, which I put an end to immediately, and then one person started walking around asking for 'donations' for fireworks ... Are you kidding me?? It's a backyard BBQ!! I was embarrassed.
